All too often, we, in our functional professions foresters, agriculturalists, wildlife managers), look at our lands and resources in a very narrow perspective. For national planning, foresters, for example, often look at only forested lands. Recommendations for a forestry program are often based on this perception. In reality, these lands may represent a small portion (or a small piece of a large puzzle) of a base from which one could develop a timber management program.
