Book excerpt: A trick of magic, a twist of fate. As the orphaned nephew of the king, trusted companion to his cousin, and second heir to the throne of Skala, Prince Tobin’s future is clear. But not as clear as the spring in which a hill witch shows him his true face--and his secret destiny.... Now Tobin carries a burden he cannot share with even his closest friend, Ki, his squire. He is to rule--not as he is but as he was born: a woman. Given the shape of a boy by dark magic, Tobin is the last hope of the people of Illior--those who desperately seek a return to the old ways, when Skala was ruled by a line of warrior queens. They still believe that only a woman can lift the war, famine, and pestilence that have run rampant through the land since the king usurped his half sister’s throne. It is these outlaw wizards and witches who protect Tobin--and it is for them that Tobin must accept his fate. With the unsuspecting yet fiercely loyal Ki at his side, Tobin must turn traitor against the only blood ties he has left. He must lift the masks of Skala’s rulers to show their true colors--before he can reveal the power of the woman within himself.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It was sometime in the twenty-first century, when one discovery revolutionized the world further than any ever before it. This was the discovery of a nonlinear power, which lies inside of every living and nonliving organism on the planet. Its discoverers termed it Meteora. With it came the ability to tap into a clean, seemingly unlimited source of energy. With further study, it was found that only a few genetically gifted individuals could use this power World War III was fought between these new beings and the United Governments of the world. After fighting to a stalemate, the governments and the beings who had access to this power, now known as Homospiritus, came to an agreement called the Accords. Code 23: By law, all children born who are capable of using Meteora will be taken for safety reasons to Gardens to learn to control their powers, and serve the greater good of the commonwealth. Which meant to become a soldier in the army of the new world order. Tenchi was four years old when they came for him. Despite the best efforts by his mother to keep him hidden and safe, he was taken by force to Juneau Gardens, which is the home of the Homospiritus and the new governing order of the former United States of America, now named Juneau. It is a Gardens itself, one of a series of peaceful and beautiful utopian societies made up of the now free Homospiritus who, under the terms of the Accords, were allowed their independence and sovereignty. Gardens are realms, which demonstrate the height of Meteora manipulation and the coming together of humans with Meteora to create a utopian, Shangri-La-like paradise on a level with the Garden of Eden. Now inside of Gardens, Tenchi is swept up in a world of Meteora, fighting, and war, to protect a world he does not really feel a part of. He is taken from his home, his mother, and the only family he has ever known and commissioned to fight in a war for the peace and safety of the planet. He is forced to go through rigorous training and trials, as well as torment from other Homospiritus, when the only thing he truly cares about is getting home to his mother. And, after six years in the Gardens’ Academy comes to an end, he seems to get his chance when, at the age of ten, Tenchi graduates. Now he is an apprentice, under the command of a Master Agent who guards, trains, and protects him and his two other apprentices, Ko and Suki. In the field as a second level of training, Tenchi has a greater degree of freedom, though under the careful guidance and tutelage of Master Agent Shaun. The team members begin their journey all over the world carrying out peace missions while simultaneously improving and learning how to better use Meteora in real-life battle situations, all to prepare the young Agents to eventually go out on their own. This is vital, as it is public knowledge that the life of an apprentice is a very short one. Tenchi is then swept up in a series of missions, both dangerous and important to the fate and the safety of the whole world. Eventually, he is sent on a mission where he encounters terrorists with nuclear arms who have also taken their own dark dive into the use of Meteora, only to corrupt it. Tenchi is given the chance to abandon his mission and continue his own, which has always been to return to his mother. But now he is faced with a choice, to return home or to fight to secure and prevent the misuse of The Sword of Heaven, an ancient weapon of unparalleled power forged of Meteora itself. If not kept in check, The Sword will throw the world into an apocalyptic age from which we may never recover, a fate that will visit both Homospiritus and humankind alike.

Book excerpt: Deep in the heart of Amazonas, in the Cloud Forest, a baby girl is born: Mila Tzofia Ferro, whose name means "warrior, wisdom, and iron." Many years before, in the same place, an exceptional gift was entrusted to a group of warriors called the Cloud People. While Mila's life will lead her away from Amazonas, she will inevitably be drawn back to the cloud forest and its secret. But first, Mila must confront her own. While still a baby, Mila's father becomes trapped in the web of the Norfolks-a family of powerful pharmaceutical tycoons-and pays for his entanglement with his life. As Mila grows up, she faces more challenges, including the discovery of her unsettling abilities. Yet Mila is also blessed with a strong, loving family: her caring mother wants to show her the beauty of our world. Mother and daughter move from Peru to Italy to Switzerland to Israel - gaining knowledge in each place that will come to serve Mila later. Shortly after they return to Peru, Mila meets Eli, a young, kind American scholar with his own strange abilities.Just as Mila and Eli begin to fall in love, the Norfolks attempt to procure an archaeological artifact found in French Polynesia. But they are not the only ones interested in the black-market artifact. As this remnant from Amazonas resurfaces, a chain reaction is set off and Mila understands she must come to terms with her roots, the reason for her unusual upbringing, and her unique abilities in order to fight alongside the people she loves.
