So rich is this history, so full of traditions, so abounding in delightful and eventful by-ways is this story, that were I to relate it all, the night would fall and the morrow come and the morrow's morrow before I reached the end. Much, therefore, that I would tell you I must leave untold; or, better, I must invite you to read it yourselves in the abundant literature that contains it.
