Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The classic book, Christ in the Tabernacle by A.B. Simpson, is subtitled "The Old Testament portrayal of the Christ of the New Testament." A.B. Simpson again brings the truths of the Old Testament wilderness tabernacle and its makeup, linens, structure and furnishings contained within to the forefront of a simplistic theological discussion on how Christ is portrayed by those items. It is a true, simple and honest approach at showing how the Old Testament priests and people of God (the Israelites) could look forward to the coming Messiah and see him through the ordinary things they dealt with in their daily worship. In eight chapters A.B. Simpson brings to life the wilderness tabernacle in vivid detail and shows how the indestructible wood, the gold, the finest linens, the carvings were all superimposing on all of it the likeness of Christ. A. B. Simpson lifts up Jesus Christ in this book and tries to get the lay person to understand the importance that all Scripture points to Christ both in the Old Testament and the New Testament. To A.B. Simpson, it was vital that Christ was visible as the coming Messiah in the Old Testament and the Messiah that died and was resurrected in the New Testament.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Grasp the Majesty, Beauty, and Significance of God's Dwelling Places At various points in Israel's history, God dwelt in specific, significant places, most notably in the tabernacle and the temple. These structures, meticulously planned, extravagantly furnished, and regularly frequented by the devout, were more than just places of worship and sacrifice. They were pictures of God's relationship with his chosen people and of the atoning work that would be done by the Messiah. To understand the tabernacle and the temple, then, is to understand how we are brought into God's family through the sacrifice of his only Son, Jesus. Visually stunning and theologically rich, this full-color resource brings together the latest scholarship and archeological discoveries to bring God's dwelling places alive for modern believers. It places these important structures in their historical and theological contexts, connects them with the overall biblical story, and shows how they bring meaning and depth to the faith of Christians today.

For many Christians, the promises of God have lost their power. Deemed as irrelevant or simply misunderstood, God's promises—of triumph, abundance, redemption, and countless blessings—are often ignored, forgotten, and seemingly unfulfilled. However, for Charles H. Spurgeon, God’s promises were timeless. In fact, they seemed to grow in power and hope over the course of his life. In Faith’s Checkbook, Spurgeon shares his personal experience testing and proving Scripture’s promises and his ongoing discovery of a relentlessly good, kind and faithful God. He urges believers to treat God’s promises as they would a check—to receive them, endorse them and actively "cash them in." Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892), renowned 19th century Baptist preacher, is best known for his 1866 publication Morning and Evening. Over 20 years later, Spurgeon wrote Faith’s Checkbook, a yearlong devotional that inspires believers to see and experience God’s goodness. Written near the end of his life, in the depths of a season marked by incredible loneliness, spiritual controversies and health complications, Faith’s Checkbook is full of honest, heartfelt and mature hope. Spurgeon’s breathtaking sincerity and provoking thoughts will encourage believers to: Study and engage God’s promises throughout Scripture Expect these promises to be fulfilled in their daily life Participate by receiving God’s promises and praying for their fulfillment Glimpse God’s boundless goodness and faithfulness Discover a renewed, child-like trust in Him In Faith’s Checkbook, the reader will encounter God’s outstretched hand—through promises of provision, wisdom, fruitfulness, presence and much more—and be invited to respond with hopeful anticipation.

We had about 1000 visitors go through before one of the worst storms I have ever seen here made the structure unstable and the ground too wet. We fight quite a battle here in what the New Age calls its capital. Many were very moved. One Jewish man exclaimed at the end of the tour, 'So the tabernacle was all about the Messiah!" --- Paul Wallace, The Tabernacle Journey"

It is a practical, in-depth, and engaging work that examines in detail the Old Testament Tabernacle and gleans from every aspect of its story, a connection with Jesus Christ. The author has journeyed back into time and takes us along to where he uncovers amazing and revealing connections between the old tabernacle with all its bloodshed, and the work of Jesus Christ on the cross at Golgotha. The Tabernacle of Moses is an intensely transformative work; it reveals long hidden secrets whose discovery introduces our hearts to truth we have never known and pours into our understanding immensely revealing connections that leave no doubt as to why the Tabernacle of Moses was a necessary prerequisite for the work of our Messiah, Jesus Christ. Written for both Christians and non-Christians seeking biblical understanding, The Tabernacle of Moses is a guide for greater comprehension of both Old and New Testament scriptures. Through this Old Testament portable sanctuary where God chose to live on earth among His people, we are afforded a close up view of Israels journey from bondage in Egypt to freedom through the Red Sea. As the Israelites moved towards the Promised Land, the book explains how God uses this tabernacle, and ultimately the entire Bible, to teach through types, shadows, and symbolism, the importance of this structure in the development of the religious life of Israel and in the believers life today. This work seeks to help us understand how the redeeming work of Jesus Christ is made possible based on the Tabernacle of Moses.

Book excerpt: WHEN God told Moses to build the tabernacle in the wilderness, according to the pattern which He showed him in the mount, He said: “Speak unto the children of Israel . . . And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them” (Exodus 25:2, 25:8). When the inspired apostle explained the spiritual significance of this, God's dwelling place among His people, Israel, He said to the Hebrew Christians: “We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man” (Hebrews 8:1-2). These words from the New Testament not only give us the Holy Spirit's commentary on the meaning of the tabernacle in the wilderness; but they are the key that unlocks a vast treasure of spiritual truth regarding the “earthly sanctuary” which Moses built, in order that God might dwell among His people. If we would understand the New Testament teaching concerning this Jewish tabernacle, which was “a shadow of good things to come” (Hebrews 10:1), we should compare the Exodus record with the Epistle to the Hebrews, especially chapters eight and nine, which deal with the tabernacle in particular, though primarily with the ministry of Christ, our Great High Priest, in “the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.” This comparison of the Old Testament with the New will unfold to us “The Glories of Christ As Foreshadowed in the Jewish Tabernacle.” Yea, it will reveal to us the wonders of the prophetic Scriptures, wherein the Holy Spirit “testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow” (1Peter 1:11). In connection with the typical significance of the Jewish tabernacle, we have one of the many clear proofs that the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed; whereas the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. Jehovah of the Old Testament is Jesus of the New. And the Triune God gave to Israel the tabernacle, the priesthood, and the offerings, in order that sinful man might recognize the promised Saviour, and understand the significance of His mission and death.

Book excerpt: A profound exploration of how to hold on to hope when our unchanging faith collides with a changing culture, from two respected Christian storytellers and thought leaders. “Offers neither spin control nor image maintenance for the evangelical tribe, but genuine hope.”—Russell Moore, president of ERLC As the pressures of health warnings, economic turmoil, and partisan politics continue to rise, the influence of gospel-focused Christians seems to be waning. In the public square and popular opinion, we are losing our voice right when it’s needed most for Christ’s glory and the common good. But there’s another story unfolding too—if you know where to look. In Gospelbound, Collin Hansen and Sarah Eekhoff Zylstra counter these growing fears with a robust message of resolute hope for anyone hungry for good news. Join them in exploring profound stories of Christians who are quietly changing the world in the name of Jesus—from the wild world of digital media to the stories of ancient saints and unsung contemporary activists on the frontiers of justice and mercy. Discover how, in these dark times, the light of Jesus shines even brighter. You haven’t heard the whole story. And that’s good news.
