Book excerpt: Forgetting her is impossible. Remembering him could kill her. Left with partial amnesia after a steamcart accident, Claire McPhee tried lengthy treatment for the mental and emotional trauma. Now armed with her own training and medical degree, she helps others with combat-related neuroses hoping, she’ll someday—somehow—fill in her own blanks. Particularly the elusive memory of a man she once loved. Something about the new medical chief triggers her painful, hypnosis-induced blocks, but he keeps pushing her away before she can shove through the barriers to determine why. Chadwick Radcliffe has faced many challenges since assuming the position of medical chief at Fort Daniels, but facing his former love—and the knowledge that her memory of him could be deadly—pains him the most. While he’s had some preliminary success using the Eros Element, he’s all too aware its unintended effects could harm as much as heal. With the Union on the cusp of caving in to the Confederacy’s demands, time becomes a precious commodity. Ghosts rise. The Element takes on a new, unpredictable aspect. And resurrected love could give Claire and Chadwick unexpected strength—if they have the courage to break the chains welded around them to seize it. Aether Spirit is the third book in the Aether Psychics, a thrilling steampunk series with puzzling mysteries and elements of romance, and can be read as a standalone novel. If you like historical mysteries, sweet romance, and clever heroines, then you'll love Cecilia Dominic's Aether Psychics series. Currently, we are aware of only some of its contents such as matter, anti-matter and energy, and are guessing about what the rest such as dark matter, dark energy and even vacuum energy may be. As it is demonstrated throughout this book, once the existence of aether is accepted and its effects are taken into account, many unresolved issues regarding past, present and even future of this universe can be explained and readily understood. Here, the author is providing consistent explanations for a variety of phenomena such as time, light, space, energy, matter, gravity, electric field, magnetic field, black holes, and even expansion of the universe which are shown to be interdependent.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Ethereal Aether is a historical narrative of one of the great experiments in modern physical science. The fame of the 1887 Michelson-Morley aether-drift test on the relative motion of the earth and the luminiferous aether derives largely from the role it is popularly supposed to have played in the origins, and later in the justification, of Albert Einstein’s first theory of relativity; its importance is its own. As a case history of the intermittent performance of an experiment in physical optics from 1880 to 1930 and of the men whose work it was, this study describes chronologically the conception, experimental design, first trials, repetitions, influence on physical theory, and eventual climax of the optical experiment. Michelson, Morley, and their colleague Miller were the prime actors in this half-century drama of confrontation between experimental and theoretical physics. The issue concerned the relative motion of “Spaceship Earth” and the Universe, as measured against the background of a luminiferous medium supposedly filling all interstellar space. At stake, it seemed, were the phenomena of astronomical aberration, the wave theory of light, and the Newtonian concepts of absolute space and time. James Clerk Maxwell’s suggestion for a test of his electromagnetic theory was translated by Michelson into an experimental design in 1881, redesigned and reaffirmed as a null result with Morley in 1887, thereafter modified and partially repeated by Morley and Miller, finally completed in 1926 by Miller alone, then by Michelson’s team again in the late 1920s. Meanwhile Helmholtz, Kelvin, Rayleigh, FitzGerald, Lodge, Larmor, Lorentz, and Poincaré—most of the great names in theoretical physics at the turn of the twentieth century—had wrestled with the anomaly presented by Michelson’s experiment. As the relativity and quantum theories matured, wave-particle duality was accepted by a new generation of physicists. The aether-drift tests disproved the old and verified the new theories of light and electromagnetism. By 1930 they seemed to explain Einstein, relativity, and space-time. But in historical fact, the aether died only with its believers.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Man has only begun to understand a few of the laws that govern the contents of this universe. So far, he has become aware of some of the contents of this universe, contents such as matter, anti-matter and energy. And, currently, he is guessing what some of its other contents such as dark matter, dark energy and vacuum energy may be, let alone the rest. Even though man is learning quickly, his knowledge regarding the formation of this universe and the development of its contents are still in their infancies. Therefore, he needs to have an open mind, as he is introduced to reasonable extensions of, or even detours to, his current understanding of different aspects of this physical world. Using his own newly proposed theories, the author is providing consistent explanations for a variety of fundamental phenomena such as time, light, space, energy , matter , gravity , electric field , magnetic field , electricity , black holes , dark matter , dark energy , vacuum energy . All of the theories presented are based on the existence of a compressible fluid aether medium in this universe. As it is clearly demonstrated, once the existence of such an aether medium is accepted and its effects are properly taken into account, many unresolved issues regarding this universe, including the current acceleration of its expansion, can be explained and readily understood. Even its birthplace can be identified. In other words, yes, the birthplace of this universe has been discovered.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Author David Thomson and Jim Bourassa have founded the Quantum AetherDynamics Institute, an organization dedicated to understanding the Aether. For the first time in human history, the Aether is fully quantified based upon empirical data. Through a very simple observation noted nearly 200 years ago by Charles Coulomb, the electromagnetic units have been corrected of an error that has led physics astray for so long. Now, electrodynamics expresses in simple dimensional equations, the neurosciences unite with quantum and classical physics, and we can precisely model the geometry of subatomic particles.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nineteenth-Century Aether Theories focuses on aether theories. The selection first offers information on the development of aether theories by taking into consideration the positions of Christiaan Huygens, Thomas Young, and Augustin Fresnel. The text then examines the elastic solid aether. Concerns include Green’s aether theory, MacCullagh's aether theory, and Kelvin's aether theory. The text also reviews Lorentz’ aether and electron theory. The development of Lorentz’ ideas of the stagnant aether and electrons; Lorentz' theorem of corresponding states and its development; and Lorentz' response to the Michelson-Morley experiment are discussed. The book discusses the relative motion of the earth and the luminiferous aether and laws of the reflection and refraction of light at the common surface of two non-crystallized media. The text also focuses on the electrical and optical phenomena in moving bodies; simplified theory of electrical and optical phenomena in moving systems; and rotational aether in its application to electromagnetism. The selection is a dependable reference for readers wanting to study aether theories.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book I investigate the necessary structure of the aether – the stuff that fills the whole universe. Some of my conclusions are. 1. There is an enormous variety of structures that the aether might, for all we know, have. 2. Probably the aether is point-free. 3. In that case, it should be distinguished from Space-time, which is either a fiction or a construct. 4. Even if the aether has points, we should reject the orthodoxy that all regions are grounded in points by summation. 5. If the aether is point-free but not continuous, its most likely structure has extended atoms that are not simples. 6. Space-time is symmetric if and only if the aether is continuous. 7. If the aether is continuous, we should reject the standard interpretation of General Relativity, in which geometry determines gravity. 8. Contemporary physics undermines an objection to discrete aether based on scale invariance, but does not offer much positive support.
