No one was surprised when she ventured to Atlanta to get her butt done, and no one was too shocked when she became a stripper. Tarai’s signature looks included weave hanging down to her behind and long, coffin shaped nails. Two things Tarai didn’t have time for were children and love. In fact, all a man could do for her was grease her palms with cash or buy her lavish gifts. Tarai was happy and set in her ways until a night of what was supposed to just be dancing for an NBA star turned into rape. In the blink of an eye, Tarai becomes a totally different person. Her moods change with the wind, and she begins to drink more than she should in an effort to numb her pain. Tarai isn’t happy, but she continues to dance, drink, and use men hoping that one day she will wake up and that will be the day that she no longer hates herself. Tarai has no idea that a chance meeting with a rude stranger will change her life forever. After going to the ER and receiving some devastating news, Tarai finds herself fighting for her life. A person that once wanted to die, begins to find every reason to live. Jahan Haqq isn’t like most men his age. He doesn’t live to party or flex in the clubs, and he doesn’t need a different woman in his bed every night to feed his ego. Jahan has never sold dope, rarely breaks the law, and he’s self-made. Watching his mother drink herself to death is the number one reason that Jahan wants no part of a woman that drinks heavily. That and the fact that he doesn’t think a sloppy drunk woman is attractive. When Jahan first sees Tarai, he’s intrigued, until he realizes how wasted she is, and at that point, her pretty face means nothing to him. For as much as he tries to fight it, Jahan finds himself drawn to the woman like a moth to a flame, although it’s evident that she’s the complete opposite of what he’s used to. The more he gets to know her, the more he feels like she would be all wrong for him, but is love stronger than pride?

From Philly’s side chick asking for money for an outside baby to a ghost from Misa’s past popping up and staking claim to one of her children, life has been one roller coaster ride. The only thing that gives Misa a slight bit of solace is the affection from her long-time best friend, Big Tyme. With each hug and kiss from him, Misa no longer feels guilty about moving on so quickly after her husband’s death. The love from Big Tyme is much needed, until his scorned ex reveals a secret to Misa that shatters her entire world and breaks what little heart she has left. Losing her father to the feds and her stepfather to the streets, has Aaliyah scared to love a dope boy, but she is drawn to Menalique like a magnet. He is the kind of man that her mother loved for fifteen years, and Aaliyah couldn’t leave him alone if she tried. The only problem is, the drama with him and her ex is getting thick. Aaliyah fears for Menalique’s safety and his freedom every time he leaves the house. No matter how much he reassures her that he’s good, Aaliyah can’t find comfort, but she makes the effort to be happy. All of that effort may be for nothing when the woman that Menalique left behind in Texas, pays him a surprise visit. You don’t want to miss the jaw-dropping drama that this sequel brings.

Book excerpt: “You Are... Forgiven. Chosen. Purchased by Love. Simply Redeemed!” “Without any question, we have been transformed from something that was unpleasant in God’s sight and now made acceptable unto Him. We were once enslaved to sin but was ‘bought back’ with a price on the cross—purchased by love!” Written with authenticity and transparency, Simply Redeemed is a devotional that is designed to encourage women to embrace their purpose in God with the understanding that they are loved and redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ. Through the application of personal stories and compelling scriptural references, the author invites all to trust in the Lord and stand with him every day in acceptance of themselves rather than pursuing acceptance from others “for such a time as this.”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Place More Void takes its name from a scene in William Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, wherein an elderly soothsayer has a final chance to warn Caesar about the Ides of March. Worried that he won't be able to deliver his message because of the crowded alleyways, the soothsayer devises a plan to find and intercept Caesar in "a place more void." It is precisely such an elusive place that this volume makes space for by theorizing and empirically exploring the many yet widely neglected ways in which the void permeates geographical thinking. This collection presents geography's most in-depth and sustained engagements with the void to date, demonstrating the extent to which related themes such as gaps, cracks, lacks, and emptiness perforate geography's fundamental concepts, practices, and passions. Arranged in four parts around the themes of Holes, Absences, Edges, and Voids, the contributions demonstrate the fecundity of the void for thinking across a wide range of phenomena: from archives to alien abductions, caves to cryptids, and vortexes to vanishing points. A Place More Void gathers established and emerging scholars who engage a wide range of geographical issues and who express themselves not only through archival, literary, and socio-scientific investigations, but also through social and spatial theory, political manifesto, poetry, and performance art.
