Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All Christians Must Read the Bible Did you know the bible bans Christmas trees? This is sad but true. Yet we continue to decorate them and celebrate Christmas. There's plenty of things we Christians do which goes against the bible. Tough Lessons from the Bible helps to shed light on certain dark things we Christians should not be doing. It's indeed bible study, but it's the kind of bible study where a person will want to open up their bibles and read the Word of God for themselves. This book focuses on things such as abortion, homosexuality, creation, Christmas, just to name a few. Christians should not be only dependent upon the Sunday sermon. It's imperative we not only read the Word ourselves but become doers of the Word as well. God calls us to be lights in the world and this is what we should be doing. Some of the questions answered by reading this book: - Does God exist? - Is Jesus the Son of God? ---- -- Was Jesus actually born on December 25th? -------- What is the true origin of abortion? - How to identify a false prophet? - What does the bible really teach about homosexuality? - Do Catholics worship Mary? - Should Christians celebrate Christmas? For non-Christians, this book gives a better insight into what the bible is all about and not what has been mistaught. If you want to gain more insight into certain bible lessons, then make sure to purchase this book before you checkout.

Book excerpt: Neuropsychologist Offers Hope to Those Struggling with Depression As a board-certified neuropsychologist, Dr. Michelle Bengtson sees the devastation of depression. Early on, she practiced the most effective treatments and prescribed them for her clients. But when she experienced depression herself, she found that the treatments she had recommended were lacking. Her experience showed her the missing component in treating depression. In Hope Prevails, Dr. Bengtson writes with deep compassion, blending her training and faith, to offer readers a hope grounded in God's love and grace. She helps readers understand what depression is, how it affects them spiritually, and what, by God's grace, it cannot do. The result is an approach that offers the hope of release, not just the management of symptoms. For those who struggle with depression and those who want to help them, Hope Prevails offers hope for the future.

Book excerpt: USA TODAY, PUBLISHERS WEEKLY AND ECPA BESTSELLER • The internationally recognized Bible teacher and daughter of Billy Graham combines unique biblical insights and her own personal stories to show how the Holy Spirit guides us in our decisions, comforts us in pain, and stays by our side at all times, enriching our daily lives. In Jesus in Me, Anne Graham Lotz draws on her rich biblical knowledge as well as her personal journey—including her recent cancer diagnosis—to help us understand that the Holy Spirit is not a magic genie, a flame of fire, or a vague feeling. He is a Person who prays for us, guides us in our relationships and decisions, comforts us in pain, and stays by our side at all times. In this seminal teaching, she explores seven key aspects of the Holy Spirit that will revolutionize how you understand and relate to this vital third Person in the Trinity. As Anne writes, “One of my deepest, richest joys has been discovering by experience who the Holy Spirit is in every step of my life’s journey. Each name that He has been given—Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby—reveals another aspect of His beautiful character and has provoked in me a deep love for the One who is my constant Companion . . . Jesus in me.” Discover how to better love and rely on the person of the Holy Spirit—and embrace how much He loves you through His presence, power, and provision in our daily lives. Praise for Jesus in Me “With plentiful biblical references, Lotz encourages those who already rely on Jesus to step into a purpose-filled life led by the Holy’s Spirit’s guidance. Christians who desire to live a life of greater purpose to glorify God will be awed by Lotz’s impassioned exploration of the role of the Holy Spirit in her life.”—Publishers Weekly

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I wrote this book to communicate many of the lessons that God has taught me through many trials in my life. I hope to provide you those hard-knock lessons without the cost I paid for them in physical, mental, and spiritual pain. My reference to hard-knock lessons is based on the fact that most of them were self-inflicted in that God promises chastening to those that He loves. I clearly understand that God must love me a lot based on the frequency of the chastening. Those lessons sometimes came with scars that lasted a lifetime although God forgave the sin from the beginning. Also, I included doctrinal truths that I learned far too late in my life. I so wish I had learned them earlier as my life would have been more peaceful and spiritually more productive. The lessons were typically learned later than desired due to my lack of knowledge from a specific doctrinal teaching in the Bible. I sincerely feel God inspired and led me to write this book. The initial thought occurred when several people commented on my extraordinary life experiences and the lessons learned from those experiences. God healed me miraculously on two occasions during my life. Those comments were usually followed by a comment of needing to write a book. As for my investment in time and effort in providing you knowledge that I hope you find as valuable, I offer that my time in writing was precious as related to the time I have remaining to live. I write it while doctors have diagnosed me with stage 4 cancer and two to five months of life remaining. I pray for God's third time of healing.

Book excerpt: Is it possible to embrace suffering as a privilege, rather than a punishment? Beloved authors Katherine and Jay Wolf offer readers the bold invitation to trust a known God with an unknown future, as well as practical insights into surviving anything by redefining how we think about everything. After miraculously surviving a near-fatal brainstem stroke at age 26, as told in their memoir, Hope Heals, life for Katherine and Jay Wolf changed forever - and so did the way they viewed God, the world, and themselves in it. There was no going back to normal after such a tragedy. Yet Katherine and Jay learned that suffering is not the end, but rather the beginning of a new story. In Suffer Strong, they invite us into this new story as they share universal lessons and helpful practices that will help us to: Recognize we are being equipped for an uncommon assignment, not cursed by our story. Transform our unmet expectations into brave anticipations. Disrupt the myth that joy can only be found in a pain-free life. Rewrite the narrative of hard circumstances by turning our definitions of suffering into declarations of strength. And, ultimately, thrive even in the lives we never imagined living.
