Book excerpt: The basic purpose of the book is to recall and record the historical events that surrounded and strongly influenced a generation of Americans. It was that generation born in the decade of the Great Depression, 1930 1940. To be dubbed later as the "Silent Generation," although not really 'silent,' they should more properly be called the "Depression Babies." They would grow up during World War II, a war fought by their parents whom Tom Brokaw would celebrate as The Greatest Generation. The Depression Babies were educated in the late 1940s and early 1950s, participated in or witnessed two more wars and were major contributors to the Technology Revolution in its early developmental stages. The book deals with the history and progress (or lack thereof) of the Depression Babies up to the present day and explains their politics and actions that unfortunately had them mislabeled as the "Silent Generation."

Book excerpt: Flinders smiled. “Once more into the breach, my friend.” Now famous after their previous quest to find Cleopatra’s tomb, detectives Flinders Petrie and Thomas Pettigrew begin their next adventure in search of a stolen statue of Aphrodite. Their pursuit takes them from the bowels of the British Museum to the barren desert of Syria and the glamorous bustle of Istanbul. At every step, they are confronted by two incredibly evil opponents: the Bulbul Pasha, a giant of a man who sings like a nightingale while he kills, and the Veiled One, a horribly disfigured monster who lives only for revenge. On the way, they meet T. E. Lawrence and Gertrude Bell, who are excavating a site in Syria. Lawrence leads them to a crusader castle and into a surreal battle with the Bulbul, but the statue still eludes them. With Gertrude’s help, the detectives enlist the aid of British Intelligence, which uses a ring of male and female belly dancers to track the statue to the Veiled One’s harem. Disguised as dancers, the detectives infiltrate it, setting up a climactic duel in the desert. Set against the backdrop of an oncoming war, this book is a window into the lush complexity of the Ottoman Empire, the stark life of the desert bedouin, and steadily vanishing societies. Our protagonists enter a world of beauty and barbarity to find an artifact but find the hauntings of memory and perhaps a strange peace as well. The action that drives this unpredictable narrative will leave you eagerly awaiting the next installment in the Petrie and Pettigrew series.

It is here she finds another creature, who also has been held against her will and is introduced to Snickann-Freymyi - a Valkyrji. As she fights to get free, something extraordinary happens to her; while she continues to search for a way out, she accidentally duplicates herself and is forced to use majik, in order to move between worlds. It is here, she discovers the life that lives beneath the surface of this planet, while she tries to maintain some semblance of order with her new Elemental sisters, in an attempt to reach the surface world far above. Meanwhile, Sibrey the Shapeshifter has finally caught up with Symbya - who has been relentlessly hunting her. She accidentally gets too close and becomes stung by his poisonous barbs, while Tamerk races to save her from death with the help of her Fey family and several hundred Elementals, who then force the Sling called Symbya to come out of the dark and face the others in battle - revealing the Stolen Child that lives among them....

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Fey worlds are very much alive among us, even though we may have forgotten their existence, and know very little about them. This is the journey, of one of those distant homeworlds, which the fey have inhabited since the dawn of time and begins to tell the tale one thousand years after King Balor tried to eliminate the offspring of his daughter Eithne, simply because it was scribed he would die at the hands of one of them. It tells the tale through their Shadow Scrolls; starting with the Shapeshifter Sibrey, as she flees from the Dragonlord sent to retrieve her, and comes in contact with the Goddesses, Witches, Selkies, Elementals, Dark-Sidhe, and one determined Wood Sprite that simply annoys everyone, as she flees for her life and they rush to save her from her destiny and the Sling that hunts her. The epic saga is the first of many novels about the Tuatha De`Danann’s army of Aelves, while the Author weaves a tale of fantasy and mythology that will draw you in, making you remember the tale of the evil King and the repercussions that have been left on this planet in the wake of his demise. This is book-one, of the three novels that belong to Stolen Child’s original manuscript, and will be joined by two more to complete the tale in its entirety. www.adeledegirolamo.com

Book excerpt: As this book demonstrates, the cradle of the Mystery Cults of the Goddess and of Western civilization is the Aegean region, an area extending from the Balkans to Crete and from the Ionian Sea to Asia Minor. The Eleusinian Mysteries do not originate from Old Europe or Egypt, but from the worship of the Pelasgian goddess Daeira, Mother Earth, who preceded Demeter and whose cult was indigenous to Eleusis. As shown here, in the Mysteries of the Goddess, the initiates descend into the depths of their psyche, perceive the midnight sun, transcend duality, and achieve cosmic consciousness symbolized by the unity and harmony of the Great Goddess. The Pelasgians, Minyans, and Minoans, the Aegean region’s prehistoric tribes and ancestors of the Mycenaeans and modern Greeks, share the same cultural heritage, continuity, and autochthony with the region’s Proto-Greek, pre-Deukalion-Flood inhabitants. The book also argues that religious and scientific traces of pre-Flood knowledge can be discerned in the Mysteries and the technical achievements of prehistoric Minyan and Minoan Greeks. Even from the third millennium, the Minyans and Minoans, with their advanced nautical, geographic, and astronomical knowledge, sailed not only the Mediterranean, but using the Atlantic currents had reached the copper mines of northern Europe and America.

Book excerpt: New York Times bestselling author P. C. Cast presents the first novel in her Goddess Summoning series... Home alone on the night of her twenty-fifth birthday, Air Force Sergeant Christine Canady yearned for something to cure her loneliness. After drinking too much champagne, she recited a divine invocation to revive her humdrum life. But how was she to know the spell would actually work? When her plane crashes into the ocean, CC’s life changes forever. She awakens, bewildered, to find herself in a legendary time and place ruled by magic—and in the body of the mythic mermaid Undine. But danger lurks in the waters, ready to swallow CC whole. Taking pity on her, the goddess Gaea turns her into a damsel, that she might seek shelter on land. But when a dashing knight comes to CC’s rescue—a dream-come-true she should be falling for—she instead aches for the sea and the darkly sexy merman who’s stolen her heart…
