Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many churches have active worship committees or planning teams, and an abundance of books and resources guide pastors and laity. Encounters with the Holy offers a conversational model of worship planning that was developed to train practitioners to be more reflective in their planning of worship experiences. The model planning, ordering, worshiping, reflecting is a flexible, fluid pattern. It provides a more circular, spiraling practice of imaginative planning, preparing the leaders and the space, and reflecting theologically to understand more fully the experience of worship. It has been tested in congregations, seminaries, and campus ministries amid a wide range of denominational and cultural styles. An underlying theological assumption of this approach is that we are engaged in holy work when we plan and prepare for worship. Leaders study, preparation, and training are themselves an encounter with the Holy. Therefore, we are called to become more informed and better prepared liturgical leaders. The language and encouraging style of the book is accessible to student pastors, pastors, and lay people interested in learning to think more deeply about worship.

Book excerpt: Described by Pope Pius XII as the most important theologian since Thomas Aquinas, the Swiss pastor and theologian, Karl Barth, continues to be a major influence on students, scholars and preachers today. Barth's theology found its expression mainly through his closely reasoned fourteen-part magnum opus, Die Kirchliche Dogmatik. Having taken over 30 years to write, the Church Dogmatics is regarded as one of the most important theological works of all time, and represents the pinnacle of Barth's achievement as a theologian. T&T Clark International is now proud to be publishing the only complete English translation of the Church Dogmatics in paperback.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book shows that theology is both integrally related to formation in Jesus Christ and shapes our understanding of the world. Christian formation is incomplete and impossible without theological formation, because Christ transforms our hearts and minds, attuning them to the reality of God. As the authors explore the deep connections between theology and the life of the Christian, they emphasize Christian formation as a defining feature of the church, arguing that theology must be integrally connected to the church's traditions and practices.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Book shares the true Knowledge of God. It gives the facts of Creation, beginning with the revealing of God Himself, through the revealing of the spirit beings, to the creation of man. It reveals the true methods of worshiping God in this life, as well as revealing the coming judgments of God on the heavens and on the earth, and it reveals the details of the Hereafter, including Heaven and hell. The oneness of God and the oneness of religion among all people is stressed to the believers of God, just as He revealed it to His servants throughout the ages. The defects of Christianity are revealed, as well as the errors concerning the crucifixion, the resurrection, and the Passion of the Christ. The details of God's Truth as It exists in Judaism, in Hinduism, in Buddhism, and in Islam are also revealed. Most of the Knowledge in this Book comes from Jesus himself, as this Book contains more of Jesus' spoken words than any other documentary on Jesus. The Bible contains only a fraction of Jesus' Message. The rest of the Knowledge in this Book was revealed to the prophets of God, as documented in the Word of God, and this is the prophesized Book that must be opened in the End Times, for the saving of mankind (Isa. 30:8,52:7, Dan. 12:4,9, Hab. 2:14, Rev. 10:10,11). This Book is prepared as a Warning to unbelievers and as a Guide to those desiring Eternal Life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Texas Prison Scams Religion exposes corruption in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, especially in the abuse of religion. In many ways, this book is a literature review of 1,800-plus works that defends freedom of conscience in prison while exposing the unconstitutionality of the seminary program that “buys faith with favor” from prisoners. The state veritably ordains the prisoner a “Field Minister” that represents the offices of the Governor, TDCJ Director, and wardens throughout the prison. Therein, TDCJ lies about neutrality in a program all about Christian missions and lies again in falsely certifying elementary Bible students as counselors. Why is the director sponsoring psychopaths counseling psychopaths? In fact, TDCJ pays $314 million a year to UTMB for psychiatric care and receives not a single report of the care given, and worse, for UTMB generates no reports itself. The underbelly TDCJ’s executive culture of cover up is exposed. TDCJ has hired the lowest qualified of the applicant pool many times in the last 25 years and regularly destroys statistics on violence. TDCJ Dir. Collier led the prison to model Louisiana Warden Burl Cain, the most scandal-ridden in penal history according to a host of published news stories for 20 years. Therein, Collier led TDCJ to favor the smallest segment of religious society within Evangelical Dominionism. Texas has no business endorsing the truth of any religion over another. We close with a proposal that utilizes the 400,000,000 hours of officer contact over ten years as a definitive influence in contrast to a commissioner that spends less than 10 minutes on each decision. Maness has been lobbying Austin for 15 years to definitively access staff for his “100,000 Mothers’ 1% Certainty Parole Texas Constitutional Amendment,” which would revolutionize prison culture and save Texans millions of the dollars.
