Eventually every human endeavor directly encounters an impenetrable mystery where knowledge turns into ignorance and control into wonder. Indeed, no matter how much science or technology may advance, the essential mystery of life will never change. The reason why is simple: Reality is always greater than our conceptions of it."--Back cover

Book excerpt: The transcendent function is the core of Carl Jung's theory of psychological growth and the heart of what he called individuation, the process by which one is guided in a teleological way toward the person one is meant to be. This book thoroughly reviews the transcendent function, analyzing both the 1958 version of the seminal essay that bears its name and the original version written in 1916. It also provides a word-by-word comparison of the two, along with every reference Jung made to the transcendent function in his written works, his letters, and his public seminars.

Book excerpt: What are we to make of direct spiritual experience? Of accounts of going to heaven or meeting angels? Traditional science would call these hallucinations or delusions. Clinical psychologist Dr. Mark Yama argues the opposite. Through interviews with his patients, he shows that underneath the visions and experiences there is a unifying spiritual reality apart from the material world. One of the stories recounted in this book is the experience of a woman who could see the future. In a spiritual transport, she was taken to heaven where truths were revealed to her that she later discovered were already written in Gnostic scripture. Another woman lived a life marked by a spiritual sensitivity that defied materialist explanation. After she passed away of cancer, she came to inhabit the consciousness of another of Dr. Yama's patients in the form of a benign possession. These stories, and many others, argue for a deeper reality that places spirituality on an equal footing with the material world.

"God's Code: My Journey of Discovery" is the result of that calling—a journey into the depths of spirituality and the mysteries of existence. In these pages, I'll share my own experiences and insights, hoping they might shed light on your own path. This isn't about preaching or claiming to have all the answers. This book was released on 2020-04-01 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The life and work of Nikolay Lossky, as presented in this monograph, is based not only on biographical and bibliographical information, but, first and foremost is presented in a two-pronged approach, the personal and systematic, which employs spiritual theology in its methodology. Nikolay Lossky’s spiritual development is described in the first part. The structure of the subsequent two parts is indicative of the systematic approach. The third part is focused on Lossky’s systematic defense of mystical intuition from philosophical and theological viewpoints. The chapters in the next part include Lossky’s speculation concerning mystical intuition through an analysis of the nature of the mind and the need for a supernatural transformation into mystical intuition. The final or fourth part, again uses the systematic approach to analyze Lossky’s conception of the spiritual development of the personality. Nikolay Lossky, along with an entire generation of Russian emigrants in Europe, interpreted their presence as a call from Providence to renew a dialogue with the Christian West. The Russian emigrants continued to strive for cognition of the Absolute as well as familiarization with the Trinity of a personal God that can be understood through mystical intuition.
