Book excerpt: In 2011, Jane Johnson was five years into a battle with infertility. Her best friend was five months into an 18-month battle with stage four colon cancer. Prayer journals provided an outlet through which she was able to tread privately in the dark waters of grieving, heartache, and loss. Three years later, coming from a place of healing and restoration, she stitched together her experiences through these journals into an in-depth women's Bible study exploring the intrinsic holiness found in affliction and joy. Faith and thankfulness. Contentment and sovereignty. And the priceless treasures that can be found in the darkest of days. In this study, Jane provides the tools necessary to dig deeper into scripture and press deeper into your relationship with God. That you may know that He is the LORD. And He has called you by name. Even through the darkness.

Book excerpt: The tale begins over three-hundred years ago, when the Fair People—the goblins, fairies, dragons, and other fabled and fantastic creatures of a dozen lands—fled the Old World for the New, seeking haven from the ways of Man. With them came their precious jewels: diamonds, rubies, emeralds, pearls... But then the Fair People vanished, taking with them their twelve fabulous treasures. And they remained hidden until now... Across North America, these twelve treasures, over ten-thousand dollars in precious jewels, are buried. The key to finding each can be found within the twelve full color paintings and verses of The Secret. Yet The Secret is much more than that. At long last, you can learn not only the whereabouts of the Fair People's treasure, but also the modern forms and hiding places of their descendants: the Toll Trolls, Maitre D'eamons, Elf Alphas, Tupperwerewolves, Freudian Sylphs, Culture Vultures, West Ghosts and other delightful creatures in the world around us. The Secret is a field guide to them all. Many "armchair treasure hunt" books have been published over the years, most notably Masquerade (1979) by British artist Kit Williams. Masquerade promised a jewel-encrusted golden hare to the first person to unravel the riddle that Williams cleverly hid in his art. In 1982, while everyone in Britain was still madly digging up hedgerows and pastures in search of the golden hare, The Secret: A Treasure Hunt was published in America. The previous year, author and publisher Byron Preiss had traveled to 12 locations in the continental U.S. (and possibly Canada) to secretly bury a dozen ceramic casques. Each casque contained a small key that could be redeemed for one of 12 jewels Preiss kept in a safe deposit box in New York. The key to finding the casques was to match one of 12 paintings to one of 12 poetic verses, solve the resulting riddle, and start digging. Since 1982, only two of the 12 casques have been recovered. The first was located in Grant Park, Chicago, in 1984 by a group of students. The second was unearthed in 2004 in Cleveland by two members of the Quest4Treasure forum. Preiss was killed in an auto accident in the summer of 2005, but the hunt for his casques continues.

Book excerpt: Captivating True Story of God's Supernatural Love at Work As a child, Leanna's young world pulsed with adventure, including emergency moves across the country in an old Dodge Dart with a dismantled airplane strapped to the roof. By age fifteen, she had become an equestrian champion with sights fixed on the Olympics. Then, in a series of stunning revelations, Jesus appeared to her and revolutionized her life. A few years later, not expecting to return alive, she wrote a will for her parents, left everything behind, and embarked for northern India with a one-way ticket and a mission: to rescue people trapped in darkness. This firsthand, often-supernatural account follows the rigors, heartaches, and miracles of a life propelled by faith into one of the poorest and darkest places on earth. Leanna's fearless determination to shine Jesus' light into the shadows--whether helping the destitute in small villages or reaching girls abused in the sex-trafficking trade--will thrill and inspire you to believe his power can change even your most trying circumstances.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A SCIENTIST ANALYZES THE BIBLE IN SEARCH OF GOD’S ABSOLUTE TRUTH. The whole concept of the Bible might be summed up in four words, “Do good, resist evil.” But how do we do this? The Bible’s Hidden Treasure highlights the importance of one of the Bible’s more unappreciated works: the Book of James. The author finds the book to be like a hidden treasure or a precious pearl, as described in the parable told by Jesus in Matthew, 13:44-46. In this book, get the answers to questions such as: Does God change with time? Which of the Ten Commandments is the least important? What is God-given wisdom and how do you get this wisdom? Are you saved by faith alone? What should you pray for? The book also examines how to resist temptation, the importance of patience and perseverance, what deeds are most important, and what you must do to help yourself and others move closer to the Lord. Find heavenly wisdom and get guidance to find salvation with the lessons and insights in The Bible’s Hidden Treasure.

Now, fifty years later, after another energy signature is captured by the observatory, Simon Forrest sets out on his own investigation to discover what dreaded creatures could be lurking within walking distance of his home. Deep within the mountain range, Simon discovered a strange woman, Kai'alla, who told him that she was guarding the most coveted treasure the whole of mankind could imagine. But Simon found that discovering who this ancient woman really was turned out to be the most coveted secret mankind could imagine.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Arguably the oldest book in the Bible, the book of Job has a surprising amount to say about some of the newest scientific discoveries and controversies. Far from a book that is just about suffering, Job is filled with rich insight into both ancient and modern questions about the formation of the world the difference between animals and humans cosmology dinosaurs and the fossil record how to care for creation and more With careful consideration and exegesis, internationally known astrophysicist and Christian apologist Hugh Ross adds yet another compelling argument to the case for the veracity of the biblical commentary on the history of the universe, Earth, life, and humanity. Hidden Treasures in the Book of Job shows that the Bible is an accurate predictor of scientific discoveries and a trustworthy source of scientific information, and that both the book of Scripture and the book of nature are consistent both internally and externally.
