Book excerpt: THE DELIVERANCE OF THE DESTINY Your destiny is the divine blueprint and roadmap of God for your life, God himself drew that road map for your life when he created you, and your life must follow that path in order to be successful and fulfilled. Your destiny is the whole essence of your existence. Your destiny is sandwiched between the day you were born and the day you depart this earth. There is a timing, there is a period and seasons allocated to a destiny to fulfil a particular purpose and you must work within this time frame if you are going to fulfil your destiny. Unfortunately, many destinies have been attacked, damaged and altered and the only remedy left is a comprehensive deliverance. That is what this book offers, a total deliverance of the destiny.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discussion of Hell is hotter than ever. Yet for all the attention the topic has drawn, few are the resources that provide an overview of the major points in dispute without bogging down in detail. The Dark Side of Destiny: Hell Re-examined is an excellent primer, yet goes beyond a mere description of options. Dr. Crofford weighs various views of Hell in the light of Scripture and finds them wanting. In the end, he champions a neglected view of last things that both responds better to the preponderance of biblical evidence and safeguards the character of God as equitable, holy, and loving. With probing discussion questions at the end of short chapters, The Dark Side of Destiny is ideal for Bible studies, Sunday school classes, or small groups.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Loyal Americans marched off to war in 1861 not to conquer the South but to liberate it. In Armies of Deliverance, Elizabeth Varon offers both a sweeping narrative of the Civil War and a bold new interpretation of Union and Confederate war aims. Lincoln's Union coalition sought to deliver the South from slaveholder tyranny and deliver to it the blessings of modern civilization. Over the course of the war, supporters of black freedom built the case that slavery was the obstacle to national reunion and that emancipation would secure military victory and benefit Northern and Southern whites alike. To sustain their morale, Northerners played up evidence of white Southern Unionism, of antislavery progress in the slaveholding border states, and of disaffection among Confederates. But the Union's emphasis on Southern deliverance served, ironically, not only to galvanize loyal Amer icans but also to galvanize disloyal ones. Confederates, fighting to establish an independent slaveholding republic, scorned the Northern promise of liberation and argued that the emancipation of blacks was synonymous with the subjugation of the white South.
