Book excerpt: Ever since President Truman invoked the words "national security" to launch the U.S. side of the cold war, government officials have used the phrase to explain, justify, or excuse executive actions that were dubious, illegal, or, as Senator Sam Ervin said during the Watergate hearings, "on the windy side of the law." National security does not simp

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Much like Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan, President Barack Obama came to office as a politician who emphasized conviction rather than consensus. During his 2008 presidential campaign, he pledged to transform the role of the United States abroad. His ambitious foreign policy goals included a global climate treaty, the peaceful withdrawal of American military forces from Iraq and Afghanistan, and a new relationship with Iran. Throughout Obama's tenure, pundits and scholars have offered competing interpretations of his "grand strategy," while others have maintained that his policies were incoherent or, at best, ad hoc. In Dangerous Doctrine, political scientist Robert G. Kaufman argues that the forty-fourth president has indeed articulated a clear, consistent national security policy and has pursued it with remarkable fidelity. Yet Kaufman contends that President Obama has imprudently abandoned the muscular internationalism that has marked US foreign policy since the end of World War II. Drawing on international relations theory and American diplomatic history, Kaufman presents a robust critique of the Obama doctrine as he situates the president's use of power within the traditions of American strategic practice. Focusing on the pivotal regions of Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, this provocative study demonstrates how current executive branch leadership threatens America's role as a superpower, weakening its ability to spread democracy and counter threats to geopolitical order in increasingly unstable times. Kaufman proposes a return to the grand strategy of moral democratic realism, as practiced by presidents such as Harry S. Truman, Ronald Reagan, and George W. Bush, with the hope of reestablishing the United States as the world's dominant power.

Book excerpt: #1 Amazon Best Seller! In D. R. Silva's latest book, he once again challenges the giants of Christian tradition, confronting the popular assumptions, misconceptions and false accusations brought against the "the modern grace message." In this book, he tells you what is and isn't being said by those in today's "Grace movement," and answers some of the most common questions and concerns: Are followers in the "hyper-grace" movement really being told it's okay to sin and live immoral lives because we have grace? Do "hyper-grace" teachers believe that repentance and confession are has-been concepts only applicable under the Old Covenant? Do "hyper-grace" teachers hate the Law? Are they ignoring the words of Jesus? Or actually taking them seriously? Has God only forgiven your past sins, and left it completely up to you to get your future sins forgiven? Is this "doctrine" one step away from Universalism? In this short and practical book, you will get a basic understanding of the foundational ideas of "the modern Grace message." You will see that the "hyper-grace" teachings that are being opposed today are actually Biblical concepts found in scripture, and that this is the same Gospel Paul preached and defended passionately. This book also provides many scriptures to prove that it's actually the popular church traditions of today that are leading people into sin and deception, causing them to fall from Grace and become separated from Christ. Like all of the great reformations in the past, we have once again reached a vital fork in the road where we must make the choice of whether we will desperately cling to our old traditions (which Jesus warned, "nullify the word of God"), or if we will actually "test everything" for ourselves and consider whether or not this is the gospel of good news that our traditions have kept hidden from us for so long. Where we choose to go next will have a tremendous impact on the future of the church and the world, for many generations to come. Let us choose wisely then, not coming to conclusions impulsively! In a time where "balance" has become a huge spiritual buzzword, don't be led astray by unbalanced claims and religious propaganda.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Jesus Christ died, He did not die for a select few, He died for every man and woman. He did not pay the payment for the few, but for every man and women. Because God made way for every man and woman, we are commanded to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. God's written Word says that God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. John MacArthur does not believe all can be saved. Some of you are following his false teaching. Tim Keller and D. James Kennedy do not believe that all can be saved. Some of you are following their false teaching. Al Mohler and John Piper do not believe all can be saved. It is only God's chosen. RC Sproul Sr and Jr do not believe all can be saved. Their teachings on Calvinism are totally contrary to the Word of God. Can MacArthur get you into heaven? Can Keller or Kennedy get you into heaven? Did they die for you? These men are looked upon as some of the leading theologians of our day. They are leading for sure, but are you ready for the hell they are leading you into? Just because they know Hebrew and Greek does not make them the key holders of heaven. If you want to find the truth about Calvinism and you want to find the truth about the inerrant, infallible Word of God then the book you are holding is the book for you. This book is not about religion or traditions of man. What i am bringing you in this book is the unaltered Word of God as it is written. Through these pages you will find that the Lord Jesus did not die for a select few but for all. You will find in this book God's plan of salvation for all that will call upon His Name. Lay aside the teachings of man and get back to the Word. Find out how in "The Dangerous Doctrine of Calvinism".

Book excerpt: After traveling the globe and speaking to thousands of churches worldwide, Paul David Tripp has discovered a serious problem within pastoral culture. He is not only concerned about the spiritual life of the pastor, but also with the very community of people that trains him, calls him, relates to him, and restores him if necessary. Dangerous Calling reveals the truth that the culture surrounding our pastors is spiritually unhealthy—an environment that actively undermines the wellbeing and efficacy of our church leaders and thus the entire church body. Here is a book that both diagnoses and offers cures for issues that impact every member and church leader, and gives solid strategies for fighting the all-important war that rages in our churches today.
