Set against the backdrop of early 20th-century America, the story follows Benjamin as he navigates the challenges and peculiarities of living life in reverse. As Benjamin's journey unfolds, readers are drawn into a world where the ordinary becomes extraordinary and the boundaries of age and experience are challenged. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a timeless classic that invites readers to ponder the complexities of life and the inevitability of change in a way that is both poignant and unforgettable. F. SCOTT FITZGERALD [1896-1940] was an American author, born in St. Paul, Minnesota. His legendary marriage to Zelda Montgomery, along with their acquaintances with notable figures such as Gertrude Stein and Ernest Hemingway, and their lifestyle in 1920s Paris, has become iconic. A master of the short story genre, it is logical that his most famous novel is also his shortest: The Great Gatsby [1925].

It was first published in the June 1922 issue of The Smart Set magazine, and was included in Fitzgerald's 1922 short story collection Tales of the Jazz Age. Much of the story is set in Montana, a setting that may have been inspired by the summer that Fitzgerald spent near White Sulphur Springs, Montana in 1915. Orson Welles adapted the story into a radio play in 1945 and another version was presented three times on the program Escape between 1947 and 1949. A teleplay version was broadcast on Kraft Theatre in 1955. The story's sisters, Kismine and Jasmine, were portrayed by Lee Remick and Elizabeth Montgomery, who were unknowns of 20 and 22 at the time. Mickey Mouse No. 47 (Apr./May 1956) contains a retelling of Fitzgerald's story under the title "The Mystery of Diamond Mountain", scripted by William F. Nolan and Charles Beaumont and illustrated by Paul Murry. Jimmy Buffett recounts the story in the song "Diamond As Big As The Ritz" from his 1995 album Barometer Soup. Famous novells of the author F. S. Fitzgerald: "This Side of Paradise", "The Beautiful and Damned", "The Great Gatsby", "Tender Is the Night", "The Last Tycoon", "The Diamond as Big as the Ritz", "May Day", "The Rich Boy".

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Upon completing “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” in 1922, F. Scott Fitzgerald declared it “the funniest story ever written” and “one of my two favorite stories.” It’s the strange tale of a man who is “born” 70 years old and mysteriously ages in reverse. This stunning graphic novel adaptation illustrates Benjamin Button’s many adventures: He falls in love, starts a family, and runs a successful business. In his later years, he goes to war and attends Harvard University. As an old man, he resembles a newborn baby and returns to the care of a nurse. Complete with Fitzgerald’s original text, dazzling watercolor illustrations, and an afterword describing the story’s origins and critical reception, this edition offers a fresh look at a literary masterpiece.
