Book excerpt: 'You speak bad of me, I score goals, ' This was a famous line of soccer Italian bad boy, Mario Balotelli. There's two minutes to go. The scores are level. We must win. The chance falls, the goal is scored. Is there a greater thrill in the whole of sport? It doesn't matter whether we have just won the World Cup, avoided relegation, advanced to the next round of the local pub trophy or our Under Twelves have secured their first win of the season. Scoring goals is what soccer is a about. The finisher is the most prized asset of any team. Clinical finishing is a skill every single outfield player needs. That ability to put the ball in the net. To sieze the chance. To score. Chest Dugger's book will help us to impove our finishing as players, and provide us with enjoyable, practical, simple and effective drills as coaches. Ones we can take straight from the page, or adapt to our own team's needs. It will focus on the mental coolness needed to keep adrenalin under control as the goal beckons. It will look at the essentials - shooting, being comfortable with both feet and heading. It will examine dribbling skills and one on one finishes against the keeper. It will look at set pieces. This book is based not just on Chest Dugger's experience as a former pro, with years of coaching behind him. It will also look at statistical evidence, using this to offer helpful tips for set pieces. Corners, inswinger or outswinger? Free kicks - shoot or cross? And penalties. It will explain the best spot in which to place a penalty, the best power with which to hit the shot, the best way to stay cool as the temperature rises inside a striker's head. Plus, the book never forgets that soccer is fun. There are chapters on special finishes, on volleys, scissor kicks and overhead kicks. The sort of finishes that come along only rarely, but once made are never forgotten. For players, coaches and those of us who are simply massive fans of the game, and want to understand it better, Soccer Finishing Book will offer us strategies, tactics, techniques and drills to enhance our love of this beautiful game, and make us better proponents of it. It will give us extra insight and skill at the most important aspect of soccer. Putting the ball into the back of the net. And many more....

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you want to learn how to improving your defensive game? Or looking for ways to solidify your team's defense? This book is your answer. As was said by a great soccer manager, 'Offense wins games; defense wins titles'. This is the case with every level of the professional and amateur game in all countries across the globe. Although there is a correlation between scoring the most goals and winning leagues, it does not seem to be quite as strong as having a watertight defense. So, we might conclude that while scoring goals thrills the crowd and helps a team to win, to be a champion it is even more important that the defense is as strong as it can possibly be. We hope that we have made our case. Defense is key to a team's success. But there is another important reason for this coaching book on a team's defensive unit. We can coach attacking play; set moves, individual skills and so forth can all help a team to create and score chances. However, goals often result from a touch of magic. The thirty-yard screaming shot; the piece of dribbling brilliance, the through pass hit with precision and vision. These are hard attributes to train. Or they can result from an error by the opposition. A mishit clearance, a goal keeping mistake, a positional defect or communication lapse. Consistent training and coaching can make a bigger impact with defense than can be with offensive players. Movement that becomes second nature, knowledge, technique, experience and positional awareness - allied to teamwork and communication - these are the elements that come together to produce a defense hard to breach. They are all factors which the coach can improve with their team through drills, team and individual coaching. It is true, if not often said, that attackers thrill the crowd while defenders win matches, at whatever level we play the game, from professional to Under ten teams playing on a Sunday morning. And it is there, with the match winning defense, that a coach earns his salt.

Book excerpt: Have you wondered how Pep Guardiola's teams have dominated European leagues for the last two decades? Not only is the answer simple; it's something that you can use to take your game and your team's game leagues above your opposition... The key to Pep's success at Barcelona and Manchester City is the Rondo. Rondos have transformed modern football. Not only have Rondos helped Pep dominate European football, they've helped turn the Spanish national team into the best in the world. The system behind Rondos was the beating heart of the brilliant Barcelona teams, which dominated Europe for a decade from 2005. They made soccer even more exciting to watch, improving players' technical ability and creating a proper, total football (in the European sense) game. Their approach was reminiscent of the fantastic Ajax team of the 1970s and the great Dutch teams of that era. They led to the excitement of the high press and the thrilling soccer, which follows when the press is defeated. They proved the benefit of technique over physical prowess. So, what is this miracle of the training pitch which has so transformed the game of soccer? The beauty of the rondo is its simplicity. It is a drill where the objective is to retain possession. As rondo drills become more complex, this aim might develop. It might be about keeping possession in transition or maintaining possession to create a goal-scoring opportunity. However, at its heart is the objective of one side keeping hold of the ball. A second key element of a rondo is that the sides are uneven. One team has extra players. It can take a form as exaggerated as 10 v 1, or as close as 5 v 4. However, the point is that some pressure is applied, but not so much as to make the drill difficult to perfect. Thus, confidence grows, and in turn, touch and vision. A rondo is usually a drill that takes place in a limited space; typically a circle, square or rectangular grid. Thus first and second touches are perfected because there is not much time to take many touches. Finally, and crucially, rondos are drills that are fast and fun. They involve lots of touches for the players in possession and a real sense of achievement on the rare occasions that the smaller side actually wins back the ball. So simple. Yet so effective. This coaching book celebrates the rondo and offers drills, tactics, and coaching techniques to help soccer players at any level, from the unbounded enthusiasm of Under 6s to the worldly view of veteran teams. From the pub side who turn out on a Sunday morning, cooked breakfast weighing heavily on their hangover-infused stomachs to the champion youth team of the region. We can all improve as coaches and players. The rondo is the system that enables progress to happen more quickly and efficiently than any other soccer coaching strategy. Even if you haven't heard of Rondos before, you'll gain a lot from this book. Order Now...
