Mind in the human sense is no longer distinguished by a few chance details of zoological classification, but, like physics, is based directly in first principles. Because sentences share all functional mechanisms with equations - a main verb, linguistic deep-structure, recursion, discretencess, linear delivery, truth and falsity - language shares a common source with arithmetic and algebra. Because truth or falsity of equations depends on their symmetry about the "equals", equations are self-regulating, not arbitrary, and reflect the founding properties of matter. Sentences of ordinary language are formed from equations by the turning of a single key - that of symmetry - unlocking the human mind into the fascinating non-Euclidean world of 21[superscript st] century physics and beyond."--BOOK JACKET.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Metaphysics Reconsidered: A Gnostic Reading of Kant By: Juan Valdez This work sits at the tail end of a progression of studies into theology, mysticism, and philosophy which reaches its apex here philosophically. It builds off of the understanding of the (shared) foundations of theological, mystical, and philosophical knowledge from antiquity that we explore in Theology Reconsidered and Homo Mysticus that have supported the development of advanced societies throughout human history, and conjoins this knowledge with more modern conceptions of the world as reflected in scientific disciplines such as physics, psychology, and biology to establish a new system of metaphysics, a postmodern system of metaphysics, which accounts for philosophical skepticism as well as physical materialism and has both a psychological as well as physical element to it—the world as it appears and the world as itis in Kantian terms. In creating this model, we first illustrate the deficiencies of the prevailing metaphysical paradigm, one that reflects a deep-seated belief in the ontological supremacy of “objective reality,” and find the source of these deficiencies, point them out, and then make some adjustments to the underlying system (Kantian metaphysics primarily) such that its misguided conclusions are both brought to light and at the same time corrected. In so doing, we in effect root our system of metaphysics, the Metaphysics of Awareness, directly into the Western philosophical tradition.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The relationship between science and theology has been a crisis for humanity since Darwin's publication of Origin of Species that affects the very core of scientific and Biblical truths with serious consequences. In this detailed and absorbing book Dr. Cherian provides astounding facts of science that were deciphered in the last 500 years, each of which is recorded in the Biblical Scriptures. Heeding back to the Biblical account of creation, Dr. Cherian takes the readers from the erroneous notion of the origin of the universe without a cause and abiogenesis as the source of life to the latest scientific discoveries that corroborate the Biblical evidence for divine creation of the universe, life and species that dispel Darwinian evolution. The Origins of the Universe, Life and Species sheds much light for a better understanding of the Scriptures that were hidden to many scientists, researchers and students to relate the scientific discoveries that reveal the Biblical truths for a better appreciation of the unknown God who reveals himself through the many scientists and their discoveries. Dr. Cherian, uses all branches of science from astronomy to zoology connecting the dots between science and theology that stretches from the highest of heavens (outer space) to the deepest of ocean floor revealing the unknown God to be the KNOWN GOD.

Book excerpt: In 1962–1967 Professor L.M. de Rijk published his Logica Modernorum – A Contribution to the History of Early Terminist Logic. The first part (1962) has the title: On the Twelfth Century Theories of Fallacy. The second part (two volumes, 1967) has as title: The Origin and the Early Development of the Theory of Supposition. De Rijk’s Logica Modernorum provides the basis for the modern study of medieval theories of supposition. Now, nearly 50 years later, scholars have made great progress in the study of the properties of terms. De Rijk’s study was primarily about the early development of terminist logic, i.e. during the 12th and 13th centuries. Scholars have also investigated later developments well into the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Not only logical texts, but also texts on grammar have been published. Many of the scholars who have contributed to this development, present papers in this volume. Contributors are Fabrizio Amerini, Jenny Ashworth, Allan Bäck, Bert Bos, Julie Brumberg-Chaumont, Laurent Cesalli, Lambert Marie de Rijk, Sten Ebbesen, Alessandro Conti, Catarina Dutilh-Novaes, Onno Kneepkens, Costantino Marmo, Dafne Mure, Claude Panaccio, Ernesto Perini Santos, Joel Lonfat, Angel d’Ors, Göran Sundholm and Luisa Valente.
