The potent shadow goddesses you meet here, however, can guide you through the darkness. Authored by Ara Campbell of the wildly popular Goddess Circle school and community, each dark goddess entry includes spells, invocations, and practices to utilize the goddess's magick and wisdom for embodying strength, setting boundaries, and transforming your life. Often, it is in the darkest times that we find our strength and reclaim our power. Someone poaching on your lover, your home, or your business? Call on Kali, The Warrioress, to release your fear and stand your ground. Is your world falling apart or are you processing deep trauma or grief? Call on Persephone, The Dark Queen, to help guide you through your emotional underworld and find a new beginning. Trying to shake your “nice” girl or people-pleaser tendencies? Call on Lilith, The Rebel Renegade Goddess, to reclaim your freedom. Feeling stuck in some life situation that won’t move forward? Call upon Morrigan, The Phantom Queen, to shapeshift the circumstances. When life gets hard and messy, Dark Goddess Magick gives you spells, practices, and dark goddesses you can call on.

This book was released on 2024-04-22 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neronian representations of magic, a practice prevalent in the everyday life of the period and a central topic in its literary production, are characterized by unprecedented accuracy and detail. The similarities of witchcraft depictions in Seneca’s Medea, Lucan’s book 6, and Petronius’ Satyrica with spells of the PGM, the defixiones, as well as with Pliny’s quasi-magical recipes underscore realism as the distinctive trait of Neronian magic scenes which has often been considered the authors’ means to differentiate themselves from their Augustan predecessors. However, such high-degree realism is not merely an ornamental feature but transforms into a tool that influences the reader’s response toward magic, according to each author’s worldview and aims. The cross-generic examination of the motif of magic in the major Neronian authors shows how realism forms a link between reader, contemporary experience, and text that encourages more active participation on the part of the reader. At the same time, images of destruction, the horrific, and the ridiculous further enhance the negative view of magic as an ineffective (Lucan-Petronius) or destructive force (Seneca), simultaneously eliciting the reader’s critical response.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Eleni Pachoumi looks at the concepts of the divine in the Greek magical papyri by way of a careful and detailed analysis of ritual practices and spells. Her aim is to uncover the underlying religious, philosophical and mystical parallelisms and influences on the Greek magical papyri. She starts by examining the religious and philosophical concept of the personal daimon and the union of the individual with his personal daimon through the magico-theurgic ritual of systasis. She then goes on to analyze the religious concept of paredros as the divine "assistant" and the various relationships between paredros, the divine and the individual. To round off, she studies the concept of the divine through the manifold religious and philosophical assimilations mainly between Greek, Egyptian, Hellenized gods and divine abstract concepts of Jewish origins.

Book excerpt: THE GODS OF ABOVE AND BELOW FROM THE LEFT HAND PATH Perhaps you have sought for the hidden mysteries of the old gods, only to find a one-sided "white light" interpretation, the shadow often being diluted to suit general public consumption. If you have sought the Pagan gods in their balanced form - being of both light and darkness, you will be able to pass through the veiled tests of "good" and "evil" to understanding human nature and spirituality. Magick of the Ancient Gods presents techniques adapted from ancient hymns, spells and rituals from long overlooked Greek, Roman and Eastern religious lore as well as the role of the Olympian and Chthonic Gods in spirituality. The Left Hand Path offers instruction and guidance towards working with these Gods and Goddesses to become "God Manifest" or transforming the self into a living deific power.
