Schools must navigate incredibly complex societal issues while they compete for students, engage families, and inspire staff and community members to give their best efforts and support. The Communicating Principal: Practical Strategies for School Leadersprovides real-world stories, best-practice guidelines, and practical communication checklists designed to help school leaders better understand their community and bring them in to co-create a vision for positive transformation. From social media and websites to crisis and internal messaging, this book shares systems and supports that make communicating easier and more effective. Every topic is covered from the lens of a principal—what you need, how it can be done quickly and inexpensively, and how to measure success so that it can be shared and replicated. Not every school or district can afford a communication professional; The Communicating Principal is the next best thing.

Since 1945, when it opened as Our Lady of Mercy High School in northwest Detroit, its graduates have embodied the school motto: "Women Who Make a Difference." In 1965, the school moved from its original building on the Mercy College campus to a mid-century modern building 11 miles away in the Detroit suburb of Farmington Hills. The school was established by the Sisters of Mercy, a Roman Catholic religious order with 6,200 sisters worldwide. Among its graduates are luminaries in the arts, medicine, sports, business, government, and military service. The Mercy Marlins sports teams have won numerous state championships in swimming, basketball, hockey, softball, lacrosse, golf, and other sports. This book commemorates Mercy High's 75th anniversary and reflects the impact of "Mercy Girls" on their communities, country, and around the world.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This memoir chronicles the history of my family. It is a historical account derived from personal knowledge. The historical account includes interesting stories that I heard while growing up on a farm near the impoverished town of Fabens, Texas but also while I lived in Fabens as an adolescent. The remainder of the history transpired while living in Horizon City near El Paso, Texas. The memoir presents interesting early life experiences of my father starting from his childhood days. The memoir describes my father’s and mother’s migration to the United States from Mexico that occurred when my father signed up for the “bracero” program which was designed to recruit farm workers from Mexico to work in the United States. The memoir then goes on to present my life experiences starting from the days when I lived on a farm as a child in an adobe/stucco building that was located adjacent to the railroad tracks.

This book was released on 2022-06-07 with total page 229 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Available online: https://pub.norden.org/nord2022-001/ This issue of the Nordic Economic Policy Review surveys the economic repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and the health and economic policies introduced to minimise its impact in the Nordic countries. Although national policies were broadly similar, they also differed in many respects. Given that some enjoyed greater success than others, comparing different policies and their effects may yield valuable lessons for the future. The Nordic countries weathered the pandemic relatively well compared to most other high-income countries, both in terms of public health and economic repercussions. Infection and excess mortality rates were comparatively low in the Nordic Region, except in Sweden, where they relied more on recommendations and guidelines than mandatory measures to contain the spread of the virus. The fall in GDP was also comparatively small and short-lived in all the countries except Iceland, where tourism plays a more prominent role in the economy. Nordic Economic Policy Review (NEPR) aims to convey policy-relevant, up to date research on different economic issues. The review produces one issue per year, each time with a new topic and researchers. NEPR strives to make the latest economic research accessible to both decision-makers and a broader audience, as well as to contribute to Nordic knowledge exchange on economic policy issues and challenges.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comprehensive and accessible guide to marketing Higher Education institutions, discussing how universities are service providers and how education is a service, both of which need to be defined and marketed together. Unlike the current offering available on the subject, this book provides a uniquely applied approach, linking the theory of marketing practice to the Higher Education sector through real life case studies and examples. Each topic is covered in depth, including marketing segmentation, pricing, location, brand management, internationalization, and expansion. Overarchingly, the book considers how to develop and promote the university as a product and as a brand. Two case studies from real life universities in a broad range of locations are provided at the end of each chapter, alongside questions to aid understanding and application. Holistic and practical, Marketing Higher Education is an ideal guide for academics and students studying services marketing, Higher Education management and leadership, and marketing in the public sector. It will also be an invaluable resource for professionals working in Higher Education administration looking to develop their skills and understanding of marketing and brand building.
