Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Christian's faith is like the foundation of a house. If the foundation is built on sand, that foundation will not stand, and when adversity occurs, loss is suffered. It is necessary for each Christian's foundation of faith to be periodically challenged. The world is entering a season where everyone's faith will be tested. Prior to that testing period, everyone must correct any weaknesses in beliefs. May God reveal to the reader any misunderstandings or other weaknesses in beliefs and provide the necessary correction. Unity is powerful! The Christian Church should be powerful and not anemic. The time is now for unity within the many denominations and Christian organizations. Each part of the body of Christ has its purpose, function, and intended use. What has been missing is the interrelationship between the various parts. The best way for individuals to resolve differences is to work with others from varying backgrounds. Believers will soon discover that they have more in common with other believers than they have differences. This discovery is the beginning of unity. Planting the desire for unity in the hearts of Christians will open the door for God to move mightily within the church and throughout the world. Many believe in an end-time revival that only God knows, whether it will be one revival or a series of revivals. Each believer will choose to accept God's call to unity or reject it. Either way, the plan of God will be manifested.

No matter how bad you or someone else may have caused division in the Church, or in your relationships outside of it, this book shows you how to get back to God and reconcile all your relationships. I highly recommend this book.” –Pastor Stan Nixon, Hartselle, Alabama “UNITY It’s Every Christian’s Call fully illustrates how the power of unity between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit should function throughout the body of Christ. Kevin masterfully pulls together all the aspects of biblical unity that are needed to bring souls into the kingdom. I highly recommend this book to anyone who’s interested in fulfilling God’s plan for their life.” –Terrence Kinney, Former pastor-Better Life Community Church, Cottondale Texas “The pursuit of unity has exploded worldwide...Thank the Lord for Kevin Almond’s clear call for genuine Christian unity available only as we humble ourselves in pursuit of the fullness of Truth only found in Christ alone. To that cause Kevin has given his life.” –Charles Crismier, Attorney and Author Founder – SAVE AMERICA Ministries Radio Host – VIEWPOINT “I’ve known Kevin for over 30 yrs. He’ll help other churches any way he can to bring unity in the body of Christ. I’ve witnessed this time and time again...UNITY It’s Every Christian’s Call is a good book. Kevin breaks it down real simple to understand.” –Pastor Hank Parker, Grace Alive Outreach Church Midlothian VA. “There is much to glean from Kevin’s book, starting with the Introduction...Many in today’s “Church” believe that “unity in the Church” means compromising what God says with what “culture” says. This book stays focused on what the Bible says, not what the world says. UNITY It’s Every Christian’s Call is great for an in-home or Bible study group.” –Donald N. Blake, Chairman and President Virginia Christian Alliance

Book excerpt: With 1,500 churches and denominations in the United States, the church is fragmented. Jesus calls us to be one, even as He and God are one. This is a great challenge, because we now go our separate ways in a peaceful coexistence. We can unify, not on all of the details that define each church or denomination, but on the simple commands Jesus gave us. Even the Jews had four sects at the time of Jesus, but they were all Jews and at least agreed on the Torah. If we can agree on a few commandments, we will have taken one giant step toward enjoying unity, even as Jesus enjoyed being one with the Father.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Failure of Denominationalism and the Future of Christian Unity One of the unforeseen results of the Reformation was the shattering fragmentation of the church. Protestant tribalism was and continues to be a major hindrance to any solution to Christian division and its cultural effects. In this book, influential thinker Peter Leithart critiques American denominationalism in the context of global and historic Christianity, calls for an end to Protestant tribalism, and presents a vision for the future church that transcends post-Reformation divisions. Leithart offers pastors and churches a practical agenda, backed by theological arguments, for pursuing local unity now. Unity in the church will not be a matter of drawing all churches into a single, existing denomination, says Leithart. Returning to Catholicism or Orthodoxy is not the solution. But it is possible to move toward church unity without giving up our convictions about truth. This critique and defense of Protestantism urges readers to preserve and celebrate the central truths recovered in the Reformation while working to heal the wounds of the body of Christ.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "It is possible to be a Christian without showing the mark, but if we expect non-Christians to know that we are Christians, we must show the mark." Christians have not always presented an inviting picture to the world. Too often we have failed to show the beauty of authentic Christian love. And the world has disregarded Christianity as a result. In our era of global violence and sectarian intolerance, the church needs to hear anew the challenge of this book. Decades ago Francis Schaeffer exhorted, "Love--and the unity it attests to--is the mark Christ gave Christians to wear before the world. Only with this mark may the world know that Christians are indeed Christians and that Jesus was sent by the Father." More than ever, the church needs to respond compassionately to a needy world. More than ever, we need to show the Mark.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While the church today looks quite different than it did two thousand years ago, Christians share the same faith with the church fathers. Although separated by time and culture, we have much to learn from their lives and teaching. This book is an organized and convenient introduction to how to read the church fathers from AD 100 to 500. Michael Haykin surveys the lives and teachings of seven of the Fathers, looking at their role in such issues as baptism, martyrdom, and the relationship between church and state. Ignatius, Cyprian, Basil of Caesarea, and Ambrose and others were foundational in the growth and purity of early Christianity, and their impact continues to shape the church today. Evangelical readers interested in the historical roots of Christianity will find this to be a helpful introductory volume.
