Book excerpt: Nick Nichols pulls no punches in this rousing defense of the free enterprise system. He's fed up with the corporate cowardice so prevalent among today's executives who cave in to just about every leftist cause that comes along - and he says so! His advise? Fight back! Nick Nichols says, I wrote this book in the firm belief that something can be done. We do not need to stand by while radical activists cripple the economic heart of our society. Rules for Corporate Warriors is chock full of courageous stands, savvy strategies, and in-your-face zingers - all backed up by years of in-the-trenches experience as a crisis manager for major corporations. We should proudly defend corporate America, says Nick Nichols, not meekly raise the white flag when its radical opponents make their demands. Who are tomorrow's corporate warriors? Nick says, If you own a business, own stock in a business or work in a business, I wrote this book for you!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Claiming your piece of your target market can be an uphill battle between you and your competition. That is why many business people use military strategies to gain the upper hand, and influence how they conduct business. There is an art to war. Before a military is dispatched on a mission, they have to determine what they want to accomplish by using military force. When you are running a business, you are conducting missions that all work to one common goal. You have to define the purpose of these "missions" as well as describe the necessary measures you have to take to make the mission be successful. Like the military, you will have to design the organization so that you are attacking the business world from all sides. For instance, the military has the Air Force for air strikes, the navy for sea battles and the army for foot soldiers. Your business may need a department for sales, a department for production, a department for customer service, a department for marketing, etc. ================= Table Of Contents ================= Introduction Structuring Your Business With Military Precision Rules Of Engagement Code Of Ethics The Mighty Mission Statement Make Leaders, Not Managers The Business Chain Of Command Dress For Success Use An Awards Program For Positive Reinforcement The Importance Of Building Morale How To Be On The Offense In Business A Business Plan Or A Military Strategy Strong Clear Communication Decisive Thinking Diversify Your Training Be The James Bond Of The Business World Knowing Your Competition Knowing Your Company Knowing Your Consumer Other Books By Jnr Publishing Group Bonus-Sample Chapters Of The Book: Crucial Aspect Recognition And Identification Elimination Of Any Remaining Aspects Crucial Aspect Recognition & Identification Effective Boundary Placements

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some have claimed that "War is too important to be left to the generals," but P. W. Singer asks "What about the business executives?" Breaking out of the guns-for-hire mold of traditional mercenaries, corporations now sell skills and services that until recently only state militaries possessed. Their products range from trained commando teams to strategic advice from generals. This new "Privatized Military Industry" encompasses hundreds of companies, thousands of employees, and billions of dollars in revenue. Whether as proxies or suppliers, such firms have participated in wars in Africa, Asia, the Balkans, and Latin America. More recently, they have become a key element in U.S. military operations. Private corporations working for profit now sway the course of national and international conflict, but the consequences have been little explored. In this book, Singer provides the first account of the military services industry and its broader implications. Corporate Warriors includes a description of how the business works, as well as portraits of each of the basic types of companies: military providers that offer troops for tactical operations; military consultants that supply expert advice and training; and military support companies that sell logistics, intelligence, and engineering. In an updated edition of P. W. Singer's classic account of the military services industry and its broader implications, the author describes the continuing importance of that industry in the Iraq War. This conflict has amply borne out Singer's argument that the privatization of warfare allows startling new capabilities and efficiencies in the ways that war is carried out. At the same time, however, Singer finds that the introduction of the profit motive onto the battlefield raises troubling questions—for democracy, for ethics, for management, for human rights, and for national security.

This book was released on 2019-03-18 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Private Military and Security Companies (PMSCs) have constituted a perennial feature of the security landscape. Yet, it is their involvement in and conduct during the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that have transformed the outsourcing of security services into such a pressing public policy and world-order issue. The PMSCs’ ubiquitous presence in armed conflict situations, as well as in post-conflict reconstruction, their diverse list of clients (governments in the developed and developing world, non-state armed groups, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, and international corporations) and, in the context of armed conflict situations, involvement in instances of gross misconduct, have raised serious accountability issues. The prominence of PMSCs in conflict zones has generated critical questions concerning the very concept of security and the role of private force, a rethinking of "essential governmental functions," a rearticulation of the distinction between public/private and global/local in the context of the creation of new forms of "security governance," and a consideration of the relevance, as well as limitations, of existing regulatory frameworks that include domestic and international law (in particular international human rights law and international humanitarian law). This book critically examines the growing role of PMSCs in conflict and post-conflict situations, as part of a broader trend towards the outsourcing of security functions. Particular emphasis is placed on key moral, legal, and political considerations involved in the privatization of such functions, on the impact of outsourcing on security governance, and on the main challenges confronting efforts to hold PMSCs accountable through a combination of formal and informal, domestic as well as international, regulatory mechanisms and processes. It will be of interest to scholars, policymakers, practitioners and advocates for a more transparent and humane security order. This book was published as a special issue of Criminal Justice Ethics.
