Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The bible is being fulfilled, and yet many churches that should inform about the end are asleep. There is no time. Many are accommodated with the new house, the car zero, a good job and the study of children. These people do not even want to think that all of this will be wiped out, shaken and Antichrist will begin to rule the planet. Many churches no longer preach the Apocalypse claiming that it scares the faithful, and this can also hurt the offerings. These churches prefer to preach positive messages that exalt man and family, but forget that when the Antichrist comes these families will be annihilated. The time to speak the truth is now, the world walks to destruction, and there is no time. Come to Christ now. Tomorrow can be too late.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This has been offered to the reader as if to say that from the very outset, any study of Revelation that is done or offered without the direct application of Jesus? teaching, specifically His sermon on the Mount of Olives, is incomplete at best. The argument that God conclusively broadened His redemptive purpose beginning with the Jewish people then spread to all races, as promised in Matthew 28:19, rings true in Revelation when understood in the context of what Jesus taught. What's more, the development of temple-based worship into a simpler spiritual-based worship as expected in John 4:21-24 is equally difficult to ignore from what appears to have been fulfilled in the prophecy of Revelation as predicted by Jesus in His Mount of Olives sermon.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Aurelius Prudentius Clemens (348–ca. 406) is one of the great Christian Latin writers of late antiquity. Born in northeastern Spain during an era of momentous change for both the Empire and the Christian religion, he was well educated, well connected, and a successful member of the late Roman elite, a man fully engaged with the politics and culture of his times. Prudentius wrote poetry that was deeply influenced by classical writers and in the process he revived the ethical, historical, and political functions of poetry. This aspect of his work was especially valued in the Middle Ages by Christian writers who found themselves similarly drawn to the Classical tradition. Prudentius's Hamartigenia, consisting of a 63-line preface followed by 966 lines of dactylic hexameter verse, considers the origin of sin in the universe and its consequences, culminating with a vision of judgment day: the damned are condemned to torture, worms, and flames, while the saved return to a heaven filled with delights, one of which is the pleasure of watching the torments of the damned. As Martha A. Malamud shows in the interpretive essay that accompanies her lapidary translation, the first new English translation in more than forty years, Hamartigenia is critical for understanding late antique ideas about sin, justice, gender, violence, and the afterlife. Its radical exploration of and experimentation with language have inspired generations of thinkers and poets since—most notably John Milton, whose Paradise Lost owes much of its conception of language and its strikingly visual imagery to Prudentius's poem.

Book excerpt: “I don’t think it is enough appreciated how much an outdoor book the Bible is,” wrote Wendell Berry, and author Daniel Cooperrider illustrates his point with beautiful narrative—like a stroll through the woods. Speak with the Earth analyzes the Bible’s treatment of nature and intersperses this analysis with the author’s own reflections on experiences in nature. Organized in sections touching on the four elements, the book engages with the multifaceted relationship between the Bible and nature through various media, including art, theology, the natural sciences, history, and lived experience. A timely work on the gift of the Earth that makes a strong case for environmental conservation as a cornerstone of religious life.

The content of this book, he maintains, is either history, prophecy or theology. HISTORY Writings that fall under this heading include historical facts or findings, scientific data or information, and any other compilation made by man that has been established out of a non-Biblical perspective. This includes any factual information that cannot be substantiated by scripture. PROPHECY This includes all the writings of the prophets, and any text translated out of the original Greek and Hebrew scriptures. This category also includes every scripture quoted verbatim, chapter and verse, from the Bible. THEOLOGY This includes all writings where two or more scriptures have been used to draw a conclusion or when the author renders the interpretation of a particular prophecy or a series of scriptures. This also includes text where the author has theorized to make a point or when the text being read is a paraphrase of scripture.
