Sadly, most of them don't even know that there is a natural medicine called ibogaine that ends addiction - without withdrawal - and then eliminates the cravings for drink or drugs that guarantee relapse. One ibogaine treatment accomplishes overnight what no rehab has ever been able to do. It's not easy, however. In America, the land of The War on Drugs, ibogaine is illegal. To obtain it and be treated successfully, alcoholics and addicts must embark on a quest that can be intimidating, difficult and dangerous. It can also be the most rewarding of their lives. This book explains everything you need to know about ibogaine and how to find it in a confusing and often unscrupulous market. It will help you understand the medicine and how to find good providers, while avoiding the scammers preying on people desperate to get clean or sober. It will prepare you for every aspect of your ibogaine treatment and the promise of freedom from addiction. Rehab Doesn't Work - Ibogaine Does will equip you to end your addiction to alcohol, painkillers, heroin, crystal meth, methadone and nicotine. It's time to get your life back.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This story is about the development of my heroin addiction and my recovery from it. I struggled to escape from addiction for 17 years, but only succeeded after an ibogaine treatment. It is autobiographical, but I only describe traumatic episodes that contributed to addiction and sketch the highlights and milestones in my recovery. It is a memoir, as it offers a thematic view of my life and is moderate in scope; and a personal essay in which I offer insights about societys role in addiction. My intent is that addicts and their loved ones may better understand the nature of addiction so their approaches to treatment are better informed and more compassionate. At 66, I am a gentleman/hipster/Seeker and scholar, but Im not an armchair academic who wrote this book from a library: I was an addict for 22 years! Now I am blessed to be alive and have 18 years clean. My mission is to help addicts by educating the public and the professional community about addictions complexity and the efficacy of ibogaine for its treatment. I hope my story supports a change in social and medical attitudes so that the unheard voices of addicts will be honored, instead of just seeing them as social problems. Addiction put my life into suspended animation when I had a third of the credits I needed for a bachelors degree. 27 years later I returned to school; now I have bachelors degrees in Anthropology and Psychology and a Masters degree in East-West Psychology (EWP). I am currently a PhD. candidate in EWP at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, California.

Desperate and frightened, those who love addicted people suffer tremendously. This book addresses the issues surrounding drug addiction recovery, with research-based opinions regarding what kind of drug rehabilitation works best and for whom. In our society, drug addicts and drug addiction are demonized. What continues to fuel the perpetual prejudice, against this disease and those who have it, is a culturally accepted array of misinformation and misunderstanding. It is toward the end of ignorance that the Author writes a brief, research-based primer explicating the nature of addiction and effective drug addiction rehabilitation. In recovery for over 25 years, herself, Janice Witt has been helping other addicts and alcoholics get well for nearly 24 of them. This is not one of your average addiction recovery books. Janice not only educates the reader, but invites everyone to the journey of learning more about the disease of addiction and then in advocating on the behalves of those who suffer from it. At the end of the book you will find a website address, allowing you to download a FREE resource guide of addiction professionals and quality addiction treatment facilities recommended by the Author.

Book excerpt: An eye-opening tour of the addiction treatment industry explores the gap between what should happen and what does What happens inside drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers and how rehab works are a mystery to those outside the industry – and sometimes even to those inside it. Anne M. Fletcher is a trusted New York Times bestselling health and medical writer who visited 15 addiction treatment centers—from outpatient programs for the indigent to famous celebrity rehabs; from the sites of renowned Twelve-Step centers to several unconventional programs—to find out what really happens. What she reveals ranges from inspirational to irresponsible, and, in some cases, potentially dangerous. Real Stories: As always with her books, Fletcher gets the inside story by turning to real people who “have been there,” interviewing more than 100 individuals whose compelling stories illustrate serious issues facing people in rehab and endemic in the rehab industry today. Connected Writer and Researcher who has earned the respect (and cooperation) of experts throughout the fields she’s taken on. Inside Rehab is no exception—Fletcher has interviewed more than 100 professionals working in the field, including a mix of rehab staffers and administrators as well as leading academics. Rehab is constantly covered in the media, as celebrities battle their drug and alcohol issues in the spotlight and reality TV puts recovery in prime time. Addiction is no longer only a personal struggle—it’s a pop culture phenomenon. Myth Busting: Fletcher exposes twelve supposed facts for the falsehoods they are, including “rehab is necessary for most people to recover from addictions;” “highly trained professionals provide most of the treatment in addiction programs;” and “drugs should not be used to treat a drug addict.” Fletcher’s most important finding is the alarming discrepancy between the treatments being employed at many rehab centers and the treatments recommended by leading experts and supported by scientific research. Guidance and Practical Solutions: Inside Rehab also highlights what is working, spotlights state-of-the-art programs and practices, and offers advice and guidance for people seeking quality care and treatment for themselves or those they care about. Inside Rehab is the first book to give readers a thoughtful, sensitive, and bracingly honest insider’s view of the drug and alcohol rehab industry in America. For people seeking quality care for themselves or a loved one, Inside Rehab is essential reading, offering a wealth of accurate information and wise guidance.

Book excerpt: Iboga is an ultra-powerful psychoactive root native to western Equatorial Africa. To African Bwitists and shamans, iboga is a divine sacrament and the cornerstone of their spiritual path. To growing numbers of westerners discovering meaning and healing through psychedelic exploration, iboga is a profoundly competent psychotherapist. For those addicted to harmful substances, iboga, and it's alkaloid - ibogaine, represents a potent means of interrupting addictions, particularly to opioid based compounds. However, like iboga itself, this book is not solely for the benefit of addicts. Iboga occupies a unique and traditionally mutually exclusive intersection point where the world of hard drug users meets that of spiritual seekers. Iboga, The Root of All Healing was written to address this intersection point. It shines a long-overdue light upon iboga's true power, and ultimately, argues that responsible use of iboga could play a key role in assisting our species to navigate the socio-cultural minefield in which we have become trapped.
