What popular culture leaves out is exploring the internal flow of energy and glide in your body's bioelectric matrix. This matrix that is embedded in your fascia provides a coherent integrated information highway for the body. By gaining awareness of its pulsations of information, you can increase your ease of movement along with understanding your unique place in the greater world. Such a pure and simple awareness leads to a shift away from our emotional reactions to daily life-to a full awareness of life and our multitude of connections in the world. Author and Somatic Educator Libby Outlaw presents a groundbreaking new approach to reaching an enlightened state of self-awareness. Moving the Internal Matrix provides an easily accessible approach to body awareness through drawings, embodied explorations and current scientific research that will benefit anyone looking to improve quality of life.

Book excerpt: TRANSFER MATRIX METHOD FOR MULTIBODY SYSTEMS: THEORY AND APPLICATIONS Xiaoting Rui, Guoping Wang and Jianshu Zhang - Nanjing University of Science and Technology, China Featuring a new method of multibody system dynamics, this book introduces the transfer matrix method systematically for the first time. First developed by the lead author and his research team, this method has found numerous engineering and technological applications. Readers are first introduced to fundamental concepts like the body dynamics equation, augmented operator and augmented eigenvector before going in depth into precision analysis and computations of eigenvalue problems as well as dynamic responses. The book also covers a combination of mixed methods and practical applications in multiple rocket launch systems, self-propelled artillery as well as launch dynamics of on-ship weaponry. • Comprehensively introduces a new method of analyzing multibody dynamics for engineers • Provides a logical development of the transfer matrix method as applied to the dynamics of multibody systems that consist of interconnected bodies • Features varied applications in weaponry, aeronautics, astronautics, vehicles and robotics Written by an internationally renowned author and research team with many years' experience in multibody systems Transfer Matrix Method of Multibody System and Its Applications is an advanced level text for researchers and engineers in mechanical system dynamics. It is a comprehensive reference for advanced students and researchers in the related fields of aerospace, vehicle, robotics and weaponry engineering.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The overarching theme of this volume is one of the central concerns of syntactic theory: How local is syntax, and what are the measures of syntactic locality? It is argued here that movement and anaphoric relations are governed by a unified concept of locality: the phase. On an empirical level, Beyond Coherence brings together three strands of research on German syntax: 'coherence', the study of (reduced) infinitive constructions; the possessor dative construction, with a dative nominal playing the dual role of possessor and affectee; and binding, the distribution of anaphors and pronominals. These apparently disparate areas of research intersect in that the locality constraints on the possessor dative construction and binding allow the two phenomena to serve as probes for infinitival clause size. Offering a Minimalist 'possessor raising' and phase-based binding account, this work culminates in a discussion of the phase as the key to the various opacity effects observed in the book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Improve your coding skills and learn how to write readable code. Rather than teach basic programming, this book presumes that readers understand the fundamentals, and offers time-honed best practices for style, design, documenting, testing, refactoring, and more. Taking an informal, conversational tone, author Michael Stueben offers programming stories, anecdotes, observations, advice, tricks, examples, and challenges based on his 38 years experience writing code and teaching programming classes. Trying to teach style to beginners is notoriously difficult and can easily appear pedantic. Instead, this book offers solutions and many examples to back up his ideas. Good Habits for Great Coding distills Stueben's three decades of analyzing his own mistakes, analyzing student mistakes, searching for problems that teach lessons, and searching for simple examples to illustrate complex ideas. Having found that most learn by trying out challenging problems, and reflecting on them, each chapter includes quizzes and problems. The final chapter introduces dynamic programming to reduce complex problems to subcases, and illustrates many concepts discussed in the book. Code samples are provided in Python and designed to be understandable by readers familiar with any modern programming language. At the end of this book, you will have acquired a lifetime of good coding advice, the lessons the author wishes he had learned when he was a novice. What You'll Learn Create readable code through examples of good and bad style Write difficult algorithms by comparing your code to the author's code Derive and code difficult algorithms using dynamic programming Understand the psychology of the coding process Who This Book Is For Students or novice programmers who have taken a beginning programming course and understand coding basics. Teachers will appreciate the author's road-tested ideas that they may apply to their own teaching.

Book excerpt: This book explores new approaches to the measurement and interpretation of the linkages between economic activity flows and income flows in urban and regional economies and new ways to explore the importance of regional economic structure in development. The book combines theoretical contributions, chapters that focus on the construction and interpretation of new social accounting systems and a variety of empirical applications. These applications encompass community-level income distribution impacts, assessments of income distribution problems in Brazil, interregional impacts of unexpected events in Japan, welfare reform in the US and structural change in Chinese metropolitan economies. One of the special features of the book is the use and application of a wide variety of models - demo-economic, social accounting, interregional computable general equilibrium - employed at a variety of spatial scales.
