Resolved, That the Synod of New Jersey, including within' its bounds four hundred and sixty one ministers, three hundred and thirty one churches and sixty-nine thousand two hundred and nineteen members, does on this first day of its seventy sixth session, hereby congratulate the President of the United States, as the Commander in chief Of our army and navy, upon the formal raising this day of the Star Spangled Banner upon the soil of Puerto Rico and the consequent enlargement of the domain 'of liberty.
