It is imperative to realize, the authors argue, that the marital relationship is an interlocked system in itself, not a function of individual partners. They offer techniques for appraising one's own marriage, discuss the use of counselors and the dangers of unilateral therapy, and outline the major elements of a satisfactory marriage.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a book on marriage and understanding successful marriage's love languages like Gary Chapman's book. True marriages are a blessing, but the consequences that come from a bad marriage are not experiences anyone wishes to live with as these could be cancerous to personal health, families, societies and nations. As every day realities set in, some marriages come across to the dispassionate observer as simply struggling to thrive. Some marriages may appear to be in good health but lack substance. While some fall apart along the way, most seem to be enduring marriage rather than enjoy it. Many individuals seem to be struggling to come to terms with the reality that their dreams of a blissful, peaceful, profitable and harmonious union have been eroded with the passage of time. The surprises are just incredible? There's a significant difference between a true marriage and its counterfeits. Marriage or Mirage is a book for all individuals who are ready and willing to make great marriages. A profoundly compelling book that unravels the secrets to having a marriage that works lastingly through the vicissitudes of life. It's not a book that attempts to mock challenging or failing marriages but rather a resource to help show what marriage is not. It primarily shows you how to know if there's a marriage in your house or a mirage. It reveals and addresses devastating occurrences that make illusionary mirages out of many marriages today. It also illustrates what the Originator's view of marriage is and spells out the roles assigned to each party in the marriage partnership to prevent the occurrence of mirages.A must-read! With this book, spouses in a discordant marriage are armed with the knowledge of what to do to redeem their marriages and those enduring marriage would discover how their marriages could become a delight rather than an exercise of endurance. Even those experiencing a separation are given by this work the keys to form future workable marriages. It also points out to individuals planning a divorce some truth they need to consider before saying never again! Young couples about getting married are fore-armed with the laws of union which they must continually exercise to build a lasting marriage. Above all, it will help stakeholders see how to make a marriage work such that all dreams of living happily ever after can become a reality-which is the end desired for all true marital journeys.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Growing a Successful Marriage through Faith tells the story of marriage. The book has many facets; first, it describes the institution of marriage as it was meant to be, between a man and a woman. It tells of their relationship with the Creator, which is the bond that holds the marriage together. Second, it tells of choices made by a man and a woman that break the marriage bond. Finally, it is a story about grace and redemption, which is a free gift offered by God (through faith) to restore the bond. I refer to this book as a marriage-faith help book, a book to assist couples to protect their marriage vows, as well as to cultivate their marriage in producing the fruit of the Spirit. Refining a marriage through faith requires not only having a personal relationship with God and allowing him to guide ones decision making but also being obedient to Gods instructions. Growing a Successful Marriage through Faith not only represents an individual spiritual journey, in which God redeems a person through a personal relationship with him, but it also represents a spiritual marital journey where God redeems the marriage and restores the marriage bond through the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit bonds a marriage together, the marriage is in a state of holy matrimony. The book Growing a Successful Marriage through Faith tells of my personal life story, and possibly, there are parts of the story that others may be able to relate to. I think this book is unique in that it combines a life situation caused by personal choices with what the Bible says about the situation then reinforces the lesson through the essence of visuals in nature. In this case, the visuals are photographs of an okra plant that grew between the blocks of concrete. Questions are presented to the reader throughout the text not only to engage the reader but also to reinforce that the solutions to relationship issues require self-examination and spiritual solution. The answers that you give may be reflections of your problem-solving approach, whether spiritual or otherwise. In the Bible, Jesus often used parables that involved nature, and he performed miracles. Both mediums were used to grow faith. The book also serves to encourage those who are going through personal trials in their lives, whether marriage, health problems, or any other difficult life circumstance, to study the Word of God and pray that God sends the Holy Spirit to move in their lives. When your relationship with God becomes close-up and personal, he gives you spiritual discernment (that is, the wisdom to put your lifes circumstances in their proper perspective), and he gives you inner peace.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the past three decades, nations all over the world have been debating whether to allow same-sex couples to marry, or at least grant these couples various rights associated with marriage. In Equality for Same-Sex Couples, Yuval Merin presents the first comparative study of the legal regulation of same-sex partnerships worldwide, as well as a unique survey of the status of same-sex couples in Europe. Merin begins by providing a historical overview of the transformation of marriage from antiquity to the present. He then identifies and critically compares four principal models for the legal regulation and recognition of same-sex partnerships: civil marriage, registered partnership, domestic partnership, and cohabitation. Merin concludes that all of the models except civil marriage discriminate against gays and lesbians just as the "separate but equal" doctrine discriminated against African Americans; thus, so-called alternatives to marriage, even if they provide the same rights and benefits as marriage, are inherently unequal and therefore unconstitutional.
