Acculturation is currently receiving considerable attention in cross-cultural psychology e.g., differential cognitive functioning as a consequence of acculturation, ethnic identity as part of the process of acculturation of migrants or ethnic groups, etc. The interest in values remains very strong in cross-cultural psychology. In addition to individualism-collectivism, there is new interest in Hofstede's Masculinity-Femininity. Other issues approached from the perspective of cross-cultural psychology are AIDS, disability, child-rearing practices, and subjective well-being.
