This book was released on 2009-02 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this final volume of the series "Jesus, the Christ", Dr. Bhagat Singh Thind continues his careful and critical examination of the scriptures and practices of Christianity, and contrasts them with the requisites of true spiritual growth and the unification of man and God. Dr Thind asks hard questions, and answers them with keen and cutting insight. Why was God's greatest creation -- man -- so imperfect as to require a saviour? Why did God wait millennia before sending him; and why is man's redemption still incomplete, two thousand years later? How -- and by whom -- were the gospels composed, and why is there no record of Jesus' life other than the brief period of his ministry? What meaning can we ascribe to some of Jesus' apparently irrational words and deeds? And why does Jesus never smile, but often weep? No defunct saviour -- be he Christian or Sikh, Jew or Gentile -- can ever save mankind. Rather, a living and present guru is needed to assist each individual in seeking his own perfect unification with God, which can only be accomplished through meditation on His Holy Nam. The seeker must transcend both his human and animal nature, and all other pairs of opposites, knowing that struggle and suffering are essential to the growth of the soul on its Godward path. Ultimately, we must learn to see reality with God's eyes, as He Himself sees it. This rational, pragmatic, and testable approach to religion is the essence of Sant-Mat, or Spiritual Science. Indeed, science and religion are complementary, not opposites -- for, as Dr Thind points out, what is true in one cannot be false in the other.

Book excerpt: "We live today at a time when the full mystery of the Resurrection body can become manifest to human beings out of the inspirations of Michael.... This was accomplished by Rudolf Steiner not just in a theoretical sense but also practically, and came about through the establishing of a path, accessible to all human beings, which leads to a union with the forces of the Resurrection body." Sergei Prokofieff approaches the deepest mysteries of the Turning Point of Time (the Christ event) through Rudolf Steiner's spiritual research. At its heart stands the question of the restoration of the "phantom" of the physical body and its transformation into the resurrected body of Christ through the Mystery of Golgotha. The author draws a broad and differentiated picture of the tasks and possibilities that the Easter event--as well as Ascension and Pentecost--present, both for the individual and humanity. The final chapter considers the mystery of Easter Saturday, through which the two polar aspects of the Mystery of Golgotha--death and resurrection--interconnect, also explaining the relationship between the Earth Spirit and the interior of the Earth. An appendix tackles the phenomenon of stigmatization from a spiritual-scientific perspective.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Old Christianity has certainly done a great service to this world though skimming over the surface of Jesuss guidelines. What is most needed now is a fresh comprehension of his real mind and human saga. Rather than reviving primitive Christianity, we must go forward from where we find ourselves. The Master said it bluntly to his early disciples, I still have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of the Truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. Jesuss modern disciples should become in this era of knowledge an overflowing source of inspiration and superior motivation to all men and women. Religion is only an exalted humanism until it is made divine by enmeshing the heavenly spirit with the human experience.

Book excerpt: 12 lectures, Hamburg, May 5-31, 1908 (CW 103) During Pentecost 1908 --seven years after he had given the world his book Christianity As Mystical Fact and the first intimation of the consequences of his Christ experience --Rudolf Steiner began his great work of renewing humanity's understanding of the Mystery of Golgotha and its meaning for human and earthly evolution. Accordingly, he turned to the deepest, most spiritual of the Gospels --that of the initiate St. John. In this lecture course, readers will find that the incarnation, death, and resurrection of the Divine Word, or Logos, reveals the mission of the Earth: Love. We learn of the mysteries behind Lazarus' resurrection, the "I AM" sayings, and the seven degrees of initiation. We come to understand that the Gospel of St. John is a continuing spiritual presence --to be recalled, meditated, and permeated with one's own life. In doing so, we realized that our purpose --and that of all humankind --is to become the Virgin Sophia, a receptical for the Holy Spirit. All of Steiner's work, as Marie Steiner writes in her introduction, was "to pave the way to Christ." Indeed, at the conclusion of these lectures, Rudolf Steiner said: It will come to be understood that Christianity is only beginning its influence and will fulfill its real mission only when it is understood in its true, spiritual form.... The more these lectures are understood in this sense, the better they will be understood as they were intended. This volume is essential if one is to truly understand Rudolf Steiner's understanding of esoteric Christianity and its place in the world today and in the future. This volume is a translation of Das Johannes-Evangelium (GA 103).

Book excerpt: The central motif in these lectures relates to the appearance of Christ on earth--knowledge of his historical incarnation, as well as Christs manifestation in the present and future periods of human development. Rudolf Steiner creates an arc from the pre-Christian mysteries through Gnosticism and the older studies of the early Church Fathers, to Scholasticism and neo-Scholasticism. After ancient faculties of clairvoyance had began to fade, he explains, human beings could no longer see beyond the world of outer appearances, and direct perceptions of Christ were therefore no longer possible. And so the question arose as to how limitations on human knowledge could be overcome--a question which remains pertinent in our time. Steiner asserts that only a transformation of thinking, enabling a living and conscious inner conceptual life, can allow for a true understanding of the relationship between the earthly Jesus and the cosmic Christ. Such living thinking leads in turn to direct experience.
