Book excerpt: For too long the Christian community has been told five, ten, fifteen minutes with God is enough, but God wants to stir within us ways to worship him anew. This book will help you accelerate your relationship with Christ, where living in the presence of God is a lifestyle. You will gain a fresh understanding of how to seize every opportunity to be immersed in Gods presence and where the focus is to worship the Creator, not the created. Through dreams and visions, see firsthand how God taught Teresa new ways of spending time with her Lord. Follow her journey as she learns how worshipping anew opens the windows of Heaven into the tangible presence of God, where miracles began. The treasures within the pages of this book will help you appreciate and embrace what it means to worship God and stop the cycle of a stagnant walk with him. As you read, experience what can happen in the physical and spiritual world when we surrender our entire being and are submerged into the beautiful, supernatural presence of God.

Book excerpt: ""Al Maxey has honestly offered a progression of his thoughts on baptism that have been formed, revised, and expanded over the last decade. This work is a shining example of a disciple of Christ who openly, honestly, and bravely reviews what he believes and is convicted about. He is not afraid to ask himself if he has embraced error. He does not study the Scriptures to reinforce what he has already become comfortable with. Seldom do we have a written record that chronologically records one's progression of thought on a single subject that is so core to Christendom. To Al's credit, the scholarship within the individual chapters of this book is impeccable. And so I charge you the reader: Do not be fearful as you read and study this work, but rather be thoughtful, be honest, pray for understanding, and endeavor to know the freedom found in Christ Jesus."" Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a book that clearly and comprehensively covers the topics of both water baptism and Spirit baptism from a purely biblical perspective — rather than from a particular ecclesiastical, historical, or theological perspective. Rather than using isolated Scripture verses in an effort to shore up a position, this book quotes and explains all passages that have a bearing on these two topics, allowing a position to form that is based solely on God’s Word. Passages are considered within their broader literary context, and alternative interpretations are explored. This book is unique in offering the following: 1. It gives a clear and comprehensive presentation of both water baptism and the baptism in the Spirit. Other books deal with only one or the other topic, but rarely both — and in so doing, often confuse and confound these two kinds of baptisms. 2. It offers an explanation of every Scripture passage that refers to either water baptism or Spirit baptism. Other books use selected verses to support their position; this book however places the emphasis on the Scripture passages themselves. 3. It includes both the literary context of surrounding verses and the cultural / historical context in which the texts were written, so as to better understand the intended meaning of each passage as a whole — and to avoid forcing a bias into the text. 4. It also considers alternative viewpoints and interpretations of passages, so as to add to the comprehensive nature of this book. Appendix chapters and extensive endnotes are also included for readers who want to further explore a related matter or text. 5. It is organized and written on a level to be understood by lay people, yet includes scholarship that will stand up to critical analysis. Water baptism and the baptism in the Spirit are for all Christians. Whether you are a lay person, minister, or teacher, this book is for you! (For a clear and comprehensive understanding of another church ordinance, please see the author’s book entitled, Confession and Communion: As Taught in the Scriptures, available through Xlibris in print or as an e-book.)

Book excerpt: As the accounts above illustrate, there is no single way that God helps; the important thing is that God is there to help—always! Even in my specific experiences, when I did not make the specific request, he provided an answer. I learned to listen for God. Of these examples, the only time it may have cost a dime, maybe, is when I was to acquire some vinegar. All these treatments were far less expensive and more effective than if one were to use the traditional means of a worldly physician. One does not lose a thing by asking God what to do, and with a little bit of practice, one will begin to anticipate the answers before one asks. Much of one’s healthiness is psychosomatic; that is, to think healthy, merge with healthy thoughts and attitudes, reflect on healthy ideas and ideals, and practice these healthy activities on a daily basis. This doesn’t just mean physical health but also spiritual, psychological, social, and whatever. For those who have trouble moving in this direction, things like meditation, prayer, yoga, and tai chi are simple ways to assist in such matters, but trusting in God and what God has given you is the ultimate way. Ask! He is there always, and nobody will have any better answers or be any more concerned.
