Book excerpt: According to the Old Testament prophets, the Jewish Messiah was supposed to rule as King of kings over Israel and the whole world, establishing a kingdom on earth characterized by peace, justice, righteousness, and prosperity. Instead, Jesus Christ was crucified, and after being resurrected, ascended to heaven without establishing his reign. The current fallen world remains under Satan's dominion where systemic strife, war, injustice, evil, and poverty continue. If Jesus of Nazareth is the Jewish Messiah, then where is his messianic kingdom? Does Christ have to return again to this earth in order to remove Satan and establish his 1,000-year messianic kingdom? This book explores the possibility that instead of Christ returning to this earth to establish his millennial kingdom, he remains in heaven seated at the right hand of the Father when he rules the world. As the Son of God who created this Genesis creation, he has a divine right to rule over his restored creation. The departed saints would inherit this paradise through the "first resurrection" of their natural bodies. After the millennium, the saints would then inherit the Father's eternal kingdom at the final resurrection when Christ comes again, raptures the saints, destroys this Genesis creation, and takes the immortal sons of God to the new heavens and new earth (Rev. 20:4-5, 12).

Book excerpt: The Second Coming of Jesus Christ will be the most spectacular event in human history! In God's Endgame for Planet Earth, the events which precede, accompany, and come after the Second Coming are thoroughly examined in easy to understand plain language. Learn what the Bible actually says about the end-time events. Who are the Antichrist, the False Prophet, and the Kings from the East? Who are the Two Witnesses and the 144,000? What happens during the Great Tribulation? When does the Rapture happen? In the aftermath of the Battle of Armageddon, Jesus returns as the "Warrior Messiah" to rule the nations for 1,000 years. Jesus finds a world which has been devastated by war, famine, and disease -- in utter economic and environmental chaos. He literally returns to save mankind from extinction, and will rule by force to end war, injustice, and poverty. But the nations ultimately reject Christ's rule, and wage war against Him in the infamous Battle of Gog and Magog. So, is the Millennium really a time of peace and prosperity predicted by so many? What really happens during the Millennium? What is the purpose of the Millennium? And do God's people really spend eternity in Heaven, or do they spend eternity on earth in New Jerusalem as the book of Revelation predicts? CONTENTS Chapter 1: The Greatest Event in Human History! Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There’s a dark side to Christian discipleship church members ignore to their peril. The New Testament has much to say about why and how Christ’s followers must deal with the devil. Learning to take the evil one seriously without obsessing over him is crucial to the spiritual endurance training we all need if we are to someday hear Jesus say to us: “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Specifically, pastor/theologian Gary Tyra argues in this work that key to overcoming Satan is a balanced, Spirit-empowered engagement in what he refers to as the four cardinal components of Christian discipleship. Understanding the various ways the devil attempts to derail our experiences of worship, nurture, community, and mission can serve to motivate us with respect to them! With the help of the Holy Spirit, church members can cultivate a “lifestyle spirituality” that enables them to don the “full armor of God” and engage in several critical “close-quarters combat tactics” the New Testament encourages. In the end, The Dark Side of Discipleship is a no-nonsense yet inspirational New Testament theology of spiritual warfare that can serve Christ’s church as a powerful aid to the spiritual, moral, and ministry formation of contemporary Christians.

Book excerpt: Endgame is acclaimed biographer Frank Brady's decades-in-the-making tracing of the meteoric ascent-and confounding descent-of enigmatic genius Bobby Fischer. Only Brady, who met Fischer when the prodigy was only 10 and shared with him some of his most dramatic triumphs, could have written this book, which has much to say about the nature of American celebrity and the distorting effects of fame. Drawing from Fischer family archives, recently released FBI files, and Bobby's own emails, this account is unique in that it limns Fischer's entire life-an odyssey that took the Brooklyn-raised chess champion from an impoverished childhood to the covers of Time, Life and Newsweek to recognition as 'the most famous man in the world' to notorious recluse.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 3 Steps of True Repentance Conviction. The Holy Spirit will reveal the areas in which we've sinned and convict us of wrongdoing. Through Scripture, the Spirit shows us God's standard and what needs to change. Repentance begins with understanding where we have gone astray. Contrition. The next step--grieving over our iniquity--is followed by confession to the Lord. Genuine sorrow arises from the knowledge that we've sinned against Him. In contrast, human unhappiness often comes from being caught misbehaving. Other times we are miserable because of where our choices led us, or feel shame that people know about our sin. True contrition is followed by humble confession. Commitment to act. Real repentance is complete when we wholeheartedly pledge to turn from our old behavior and move toward righteous ways. God knows we won't live perfectly, but He looks for a surrendered heart that diligently seeks to obey Him. A Prayer for Repentance Dear Lord, thank you for your forgiveness. Thank you for not abandoning us to our mistakes, but for reaching out instead to bring us home. Help convict me of sin and help me accept your mercy without shame. Thank you for the love you have poured out for me and all of your children. Help me live out of that love today. In Jesus' Name, Amen

Book excerpt: Have you ever asked how Gods knowledge of the future impacts your life today? Frustrating God offers a challenge to the assumptions of open theism and provides answers that are both refreshing and new. Theologians and laypeople alike have struggled with the extent Gods knowledge, the limitations of human free will, and the practical implications these ideas have for everyday life. Why doesnt God do something about all the evil in the world? Have you ever tried to answer the question about Gods goodness in light of the fact that people He created will be lost for all eternity? How can God answer prayers if He does not know and may not be able to anticipate the future consequences of those answers? How do we resolve the apparent conflict between human freedom and Gods overwhelming power? You can find the answer to these and many more questions in Frustrating God. In this challenge to the theological view of open theism, Pastor Luis Scott offers a radically new alternative to the seemingly tense relationship between Gods foreknowledge and human free will. This deepened understanding of Gods nature can enhance your perception of a God so magnificent that the only word to describe our struggle to know Him is frustrating. In Frustrating God you will begin a journey to a deeper knowledge of the mysterious God of the Biblethe God who baffles us, but loves us enough to lay the penalty of sin upon His beloved Son.
