Book excerpt: This book offers a critique of common spiritual warfare practices including binding Satan, renouncing curses, spiritual mapping and exorcisms. Using Scripture, and Scripture alone, Pastor Jim Osman shows that true spiritual warfare is not a battle over territory, but a battle for the truth. The book is divided into four sections: Establishing Biblical Principles, Exposing Unbiblical Practices, Explaining Biblical Perspectives and Examining a Biblical Passage. A biblical approach to spiritual warfare recognizes the Bible as the sole authority, rejects unbiblical and man-made methods, and rests in Christ and His finished work for victory. Many in the modern spiritual warfare movement teach a methodology of spiritual warfare that is more akin to something you would find in a Harry Potter novel (renouncing curses and using prayer mantras to seize territory) than anything described in Scripture. Many of these practices reflect a theology built on anecdotes, experience, and interviews with demons rather than a sound exegesis of Scripture. Footnoted quotations of authors like Mark Bubeck, Neil T. Anderson, and others are compared against Scripture to show that modern spiritual warfare "experts" have abandoned the authority of Scripture and opted for man-made methods to wage spiritual battle. The chapters include a study of the three enemies that every Christian faces: the world, the flesh, and the devil. Pastor Osman answers from Scripture the questions: Can a Christian be demon-possessed? Is Christ's authority ours? and, What about exorcisms? One chapter includes a helpful discussion of the link between spiritual warfare and a believer's sanctification. The foreword is written by international conference speaker Justin Peters (justinpeters.org). This book is being published as an e-book as a fundraiser to finish the new church building of Kootenai Community Church (www.kootenaichurch.org) of which Jim is one of the pastors. All the proceeds go the building fund for the completion of that project. You can see regular updates at http: //www.truthorterritory.com .

Book excerpt: This book is a must-read for all those searching for something more in their relationship with Jesus. For over ten years, I have been in a healing, wholeness, and restoration ministry, dealing with many believers held in bondage and crying out to the Lord in despair-both church leaders and the congregation alike. They know all the scriptures to quote, all the right words to say, and all the prayers to pray, yet they know they are not right with the Lord. They know they are not the same at home as they are at church, and they look on helplessly as their families and marriages fall apart before their eyes. They know they are not living in the promises of God's Word. In short, they are living below their inheritance in Christ. So what's gone wrong? Why are so many believers in Christ not living in victory? Why are they not fulfilling the call God has placed over their lives? Why are they suffering sickness and disease? And why is there constant turmoil and strife in their lives when God promised us a banquet table before our enemies? Many know they miss out on what God has for them, but they don't know why or how to become free in Christ instead of being slaves to sin. Yet there is a hidden force lurking behind the scenes, largely going unnoticed and definitely not understood. He works tirelessly against the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believers of our Lord Jesus Christ: Satan. In writing this book, I am looking to share my experiences of: - Direct Spiritual Warfare against the supernatural forces of Satan - Conflict with a satanic high priest and priestess - The methods that the occult realm, through covens, has used in Spiritual Warfare to cause division and church splits - The experience of my daughter coming under the influence of these forces and even using witchcraft against me I share how the Lord used me to: - Warn churches, organisations, and individuals of the work of demons and the devastating effects they have on believers. - The destruction these spiritual forces bring into the Body of Christ. - The experiences where God has brought churches, organisations, and individuals into revival. - The need for congregations and leadership to be healed, be set free, and to be delivered-but most importantly to stay healed, stay free, and stay delivered. - How sin, bitterness, and unforgiveness open the door to the enemy's control and influence over our lives, disempowering our authority in Christ and defeating us in direct Spiritual Warfare. - I also give three key elements to victory in Spiritual Warfare. Through this book, I hope to help God's people understand the invisible forces holding them back from the fullness that Christ died to give them, to find the higher calling in Christ Jesus, and to be set free from all the works of Satan. I hope that God will put this book into the hands of those who desperately need to read it.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians already have victory over the world through Jesus, but Satan picks a fight with believers nonetheless, tempting them with the influences of the world in an effort to steal God’s glory. Indeed, the battle rages on , but the nature of the enemy is baldly exposed in Spiritual Warfare, helping readers better understand feelings of resentment, anger, doubt, pride, and adversity for what they really are: fiery darts of deception. Written by International Mission Board president Jerry Rankin, who has witnessed spiritual warfare at work around the world, the book in turn becomes an inspiring guide to the Spirit-filled life, illuminating spiritual disciplines that equip us for victory including prayer, Bible study, fasting, Sabbath observance, active church membership, and praising God in all things.

Book excerpt: Imagine what our world might look like if Christians became known for remarkable love, as well as life-giving truth. The stakes are high and the need is great for Christians to represent Jesus to a watching world. And today, we have more influence than ever before--for better and for worse. We are among the first generations to have access to a global megaphone through social media. But it's not enough to speak truth louder to a noisy culture. To counter the reputation Christians have earned, our love must be just as loud. Ask evangelist Matt Brown, and he will tell you Christians today are facing a crisis of influence. In our rush to speak truth to today's tensions, cultural issues, and trending controversies, it becomes all too easy to focus on proving our points rather than extending God's grace. Conversely, when we seek only to love yet never proclaim a better way, we short-circuit God's plan. Truth Plus Love invites you to rediscover the biblical framework for engaging culture as ambassadors of Christ. Through biblical insight, cultural analysis, and practical principles, Matt Brown outlines how to champion truth without compromise, how to love unconditionally, and ultimately, how to step into this great adventure of representing God to the world. It's hard, it's messy, and it's the unfinished project of a lifetime, yet here we find our great adventure: representing God to a watching world.
