Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everyone has heard of the SAS and are probably aware that all major countries have their own highly trained Special Forces. Normally working in opposition to each other, these units have a common bond that transcends all national boundaries. That bond is born of the PRIDE the members have in their skills and the RESPECT they feel for each other. While remaining fiercely loyal to their own country, they have established an 'unofficial fraternity' that gives international cooperation whereby they help each other when in need. It is this cooperation that Ben Carson - ex SAS, calls on when he sets out on a trail of revenge following the drug related killing of his god daughter. Ex-Special Forces members across Europe and in the Americas team up with him to form a small group of 'specialist' volunteers. With their help, he lays his plans to wreak a bloody revenge and the destruction of the Colombian Cartel responsible for the import of drugs to the UK. Dodging cartel hit men, he crosses Europe and reaches North America where he comes under the eagle eye of the CIA. Finally moving into Panama and Colombia, the action moves swiftly onwards, with helicopters and ground forces working together to achieve that aim. Written by a security specialist, it is autobiographical in that it concerns the skills, weapons and contacts of the security trade.

Book excerpt: Due to government secrecy, the public never learned of the numerous UFO incursions at strategic nuclear weapons installations where they disabled ICBM missiles and even activated their launch codes. They never heard about UFO encounters reported by police officers, civilian and military pilots and astronauts, and they were never told the real facts of the Roswell event. The volume of evidence suggesting we are not alone, and probably never have been, is overwhelming. It suggests an alien agenda to accelerate the evolution of the human race. To understand what is happening requires knowledge of what is going on today as well as the past, particularly during the biblical era. Much has been learned through the Freedom of Information Act, from whistleblowers, and government and military officials. This book connects the dots suggesting what aliens have been doing for the past several thousand years.

Barbour, Susan Bernardin, Mike Borkent, Jeremy M. Carnes, Philip Cass, Jordan Clapper, James J. Donahue, Dennin Ellis, Jessica Fontaine, Jonathan Ford, Lee Francis IV, Enrique García, Javier García Liendo, Brenna Clarke Gray, Brian Montes, Arij Ouweneel, Kevin Patrick, Candida Rifkind, Jessica Rutherford, and Jorge Santos Cultural works by and about Indigenous identities, histories, and experiences circulate far and wide. However, not all films, animation, television shows, and comic books lead to a nuanced understanding of Indigenous realities. Acclaimed comics scholar Frederick Luis Aldama shines light on how mainstream comics have clumsily distilled and reconstructed Indigenous identities and experiences. He and contributors emphasize how Indigenous comic artists are themselves clearing new visual-verbal narrative spaces for articulating more complex histories, cultures, experiences, and narratives of self. To that end, Aldama brings together scholarship that explores both the representation and misrepresentation of Indigenous subjects and experiences as well as research that analyzes and highlights the extraordinary work of Indigenous comic artists. Among others, the book examines Daniel Parada’s Zotz, Puerto Rican comics Turey el Taíno and La Borinqueña, and Moonshot: The Indigenous Comics Collection. This volume’s wide-armed embrace of comics by and about Indigenous peoples of the Americas and Australasia is a first step to understanding how the histories of colonial and imperial domination connect the violent wounds that still haunt across continents. Aldama and contributors resound this message: Indigeneity in comics is an important, powerful force within our visual-verbal narrative arts writ large.

Book excerpt: BOY Novak turns twenty and decides to try for a brand-new life. Flax Hill, Massachusetts, isn't exactly a welcoming town, but it does have the virtue of being the last stop on the bus route she took from New York. Flax Hill is also the hometown of Arturo Whitman - craftsman, widower, and father of Snow. SNOW is mild-mannered, radiant and deeply cherished - exactly the sort of little girl Boy never was, and Boy is utterly beguiled by her. If Snow displays a certain inscrutability at times, that's simply a characteristic she shares with her father, harmless until Boy gives birth to Snow's sister, Bird. When BIRD is born Boy is forced to re-evaluate the image Arturo's family have presented to her, and Boy, Snow and Bird are broken apart.
