As new allies begin to move onto the rifle club's property, Phil must begin the grieving process for the recent personal tragedy. Rising violence throughout Slaughter County forces the club members to take drastic action, even at the risk of government reprisal. In the midst of this, Phil discovers a dear friend has been gravely injured. He decides to set out to find him before it's too late. Travel back in time, too, as new characters experience the disasters. A former Ranger moves his family to their bug-out location. A charge nurse learns the true meaning of horror when she leads the hospital's triage center. And a sniper set on vengeance finds himself in a life and death battle with an elusive monster. In the shadows, as local organized crime syndicates jockey for the top spot, a subversive and ready foe is amassing an army of unbelievable size. The authorities in Seattle learn in one night how desperately out-planned and out-gunned they are. Follow as the Mendoza Cartel sets the stage to write a new chapter in American history, while Phil and the Slaughter Peninsula Posse work to save Liberty from tyranny before it is completely gone.

Entire counties are covered in mud, rock and earth. Landslides and tsunamis add to the annihilation. Power and internet are knocked out to the entire American West. Meanwhile, Phil's son Crane and Captain Marie Darnell fight to stop a disaster at a nearby shipyard. The catastrophe has unleashed a nuclear nightmare inside a submarine and threatened to sink an aircraft carrier permanently. Is it too late, as the worst of humanity surfaces in a rapidly deteriorating world? Will the American Spirit be enough as Phil and his community reel from new and dangerous threats?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Regional economic development has attracted the interest of economists, geographers, planners and regional scientists for a long time. And, of course, it is a field that has developed a large practitioner cohort in government and business agencies from the national down to the state and local levels. In planning for cities and regions, both large and small, economic development issues now tend to be integrated into strategic planning processes. For at least the last 50 years, scholars from various disciplines have theorised about the nature of regional economic development, developing a range of models seeking to explain the process of regional economic development, and why it is that regions vary so much in their economic structure and performance and how these aspects of a region can change dramatically over time. Regional scientists in particular have developed a comprehensive tool-kit of methodologies to measure and monitor regional economic characteristics such as industry sectors, employment, income, value of production, investment, and the like, using both quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis, and focusing on both static and dynamic analysis. The 'father of regional science', Walter lsard, was the first to put together a comprehensive volume on techniques of regional analysis (Isard 1960), and since then a huge literature has emerged, including the many titles in the series published by Springer in which this book is published.
