Book excerpt: Finally a book that will not challenge the stories of religion, but rather help you understand and deal with the impact that "spiritual abuse " has had on relationships. "At last, here is a practical book for helping women and men address their problems by getting at the root causes--prehistoric events that led to male insecurity and the subordination of women, transmitted to us over the ages by religious views of a male God and inferior, submissive women. What Dr. Singer terms "spiritual abuse" is a major contributor to the problem between the sexes, and she provides a guide to help couples to escape from it." --Robert S. McElvaine Author, Eve's Seed: Biology, the Sexes and the Course of History Chair, Department of History, Millsaps College, Jackson, Ms. "What a clever and brilliant title ADAM WAS TRAPPED EVE WAS FRAMED and the substance of the book easily compliments the title. It is as good, or better than any book I have read on the quest for personal freedom. Part One, alone, on being "Awake" is worth the price of the book. Life is in session...are you present?" This book, in a beautiful and profound way, tells you how you can become "present" on your personal road to freedom." --William Edelen Former Minister of the First Congregational Church in Tacoma, Washington Lecturer for the Department of Religion at the University of Puget Sound Columnist, Writer and Lecturer Follow Adam and Eve in their therapy with Dr. Lita after he tells about his affair and he wants to leave the marriage, and watch what happens --- This is a book about Change. Your Change . ----Follow the five steps AWAKE, NOTICE, CATCH, INTERRUPT AND CHANGE, and you will have the keys to Partnership, Balance and Freedom . ---It is not what happens in your life, but how you deal with it that matters . ---To find love, inner peace, is an inside job and starts with the journey within."

Book excerpt: From the author of the twenty-five-million-copy bestseller The Shack comes a captivating new novel destined to be one of the most talked-about books of the decade. Eve is a bold, unprecedented exploration of the Creation narrative, true to the original texts and centuries of scholarship—yet with breathtaking discoveries that challenge traditional beliefs about who we are and how we’re made. Eve opens a refreshing conversation about the equality of men and women within the context of our beginnings, helping us see each other as our Creator does—complete, unique, and not constrained by cultural rules or limitations. When a shipping container washes ashore on an island between our world and the next, John the Collector finds a young woman inside—broken, frozen, and barely alive. With the aid of Healers and Scholars, John oversees her recovery and soon discovers that her genetic code connects her to every known race. No one would guess what her survival will mean… No one but Eve, Mother of the Living, who calls her “daughter” and invites her to witness the truth about her own story—indeed, the truth about us all. As The Shack awakened readers to a personal, non-religious understanding of God, Eve will free us from faulty interpretations that have corrupted human relationships since the Garden of Eden. Thoroughly researched and exquisitely written, Eve is a masterpiece that will inspire readers for generations to come.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The two books contained in this volume are considered by many scholars to be part of the "Pseudepigrapha" and form part of “The Forgotten Books of Eden” edited by Rutherford H. Platt, Jr. These books are a written account of what happened to Adam and Eve in the days of after they were cast out of the Garden of Eden. The First Book of Adam and Eve details the life and times of Adam and Eve in the period immediately following their expulsion from the Garden of Eden to the time that Cain slays his brother Abel. It tells of Adam and Eve's first dwelling in the Cave of Treasures; their trials and temptations; and of Satan's many apparitions to them. It also tells of the birth of Cain, Abel, and their twin sisters; and of Cain's love for his beautiful twin sister, Luluwa, whom Adam and Eve wished to be joined to Abel The Second Book of Adam and Eve gives an account of the life and times of Cain and his twin Sister Luluwa after they went away until the time that Enoch was taken by God. The "Pseudepigrapha" is a collection of historical biblical works that are considered to be fiction. Because of this, this book was not included in the compilation of the Christian Bible. Although considered to be Pseudepigrapha by some, it carries significant meaning and insight into events of that time. In order to put these two books into perspective, one has to ask how, and why, these writings have survived through the centuries and if they are as unsubstantial as many righteous scholars claim them to be?

Book excerpt: Jesus commands us to love our neighbors. So why are so many Christians taught to fear their neighbors? The American church is known as a people who are afraid, who have been nurtured through fear into hatred, and who have moved from hatred to violence--or at least to neglect. This fear, too often lived out boldly in the name of Jesus, is a false religion. God instructs us to welcome strangers. We are not to withhold hospitality or help from anyone in need. So why do we fear strangers, especially those needing hospitality, afraid that their presence may threaten what we have? Jesus taught us to love our enemies. We are to pray for those who actively harm us. Instead, we create enemies in our minds, seeing anyone who thinks, believes, looks, or lives differently from us as dangerous, a threat to our way of living. The Christian community exists to declare and demonstrate God's love and to follow Jesus in practicing love over fear, even in unsafe times and places. It's time to reclaim our brave fear of God and risk transformative love for the sake of our neighbors, the strangers among us, and our enemies. We are people of the Kingdom. Fearing Bravely teaches us that we have nothing to fear. Instead, we can respond to our fear problem with a brave love that emerges from choosing to let our fear of God overcome our fear of everything else. Catherine McNiel writes with conviction, wisely guiding us to recognize our fear and, with God's help, not let it limit us to love courageously all who are among us.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The First and Second Books of Adam and Eve, also known as The Conflict of Adam and Eve with Satan, are a late Christian work dating hundreds of years after the actual Biblical Scriptures. The First Book of Adam and Eve tells the story of what happened to Adam and Eve after they left Eden. It tells of the difficulties they encountered in their new home known as the Cave of Treasures, and of Satan's many appearances (often mistranslated as "apparitions") to them. The First Book of Adam and Eve also chronicles the birth of Cain and his twin sister Luluwa and of Abel and his twin sister Aklemia. It also details Cain's murder of Abel, as well as Adam's death. The first book focuses on Adam's sorrow at being outside the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve are constantly plagued by visits from Satan, who appears to them in many forms and attempts to trick them over and over again. The Second Books of Adam and Eve is an account of the history of the patriarchs who lived before the Flood. It chronicles the lives of Seth's descendants on the Holy Mountain and tells how they broke God's commandment and left the mountain, being tricked by Cain's descendants. The First and Second Books of Adam and Eve are classed as pseudegraphica which means "false works." The texts are thought to have their source in the fifth or sixth century CE, but they show evidence of extensive and much later Christian additions from after the time of Middle Ages.
